Tithing
« on: October 27, 2022, 03:09:01 PM »

Hello all , I pray you are all well.

Was wondering if you all get the Canadian channel CBC in the US , specifically
the Fifth Estate?

It’s on tonight but you may be able to get it online.
It’s about the Mormon Church and tithing. I saw a snippet.
Well worth the watch if you can.

Praise Our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
God Bless You All 💕

If you live in a border state you may get it over-the-air.

But I found The Fifth Estate on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/cbcfifth

BTW, I grew up in the Detroit area and watched the CBC all the time many years ago.

I still haven’t seen it but it prompted me to read Rays tithing paper again.

Re. Tithing
Ray,,, Since burnt offerings were a form of worshiping God, and since we still worship God,
must we still offer burnt offerings to God? RIDICULOUS!

Dennis, I saw a show about Detroit. It’s certainly built up. Do you still live in Mobile?
Isn’t that where an impact crater is? I hope and pray you are doing well Since your surgery.
Also your family, and of course all of our families.
Family, life’s greatest blessing , we are just not all cooked yet😁 .Hang in there.

I watched some of it this morning: https://youtu.be/NgxGYUyvJio

I'm still in Mobile. There is an impact crater in northern AL but the big crater is in Arizona.

Almost a year since the surgery and I'm still sore. It takes over a year to heal I was told. Thank you.

Thanks Dennis.

WOW , That guy said “ I want my tithing money back” .

Imagine in these hard times if millions of tithers want their money back.

I had never heard it said before that they want to bring the Kingdom to America.
Is this true of all the churches?

ECC.12:14,,, For God will bring every work into judgement, with every secret thing,
wether it be good , or whether it be evil.

I was watching a documentary on Burundi, the poorest country on the planet.
Just heartbreaking.
At the end there was this quote spoken.

When the Christians came , we had the land and they had the Bible. They taught us to close our
eyes and pray. But when we opened our eyes, they had the land and we had the Bible.

I sincerely hope you continue to feel better Dennis and all here who love our Lord, keep
fighting the good fight.

Yes Wendy it certainly is sad to see this level of poverty in the world, however
it is this world of this present evil that we must endure . God is making us have new hearts of flesh
from our old stony hearts. At least now we think about the situation of other humans .
Most people don’t want to know, they bury their head in the sand. I was like that before
coming to BT. Thanks be to Our God for His grace and mercy.

ECC…….. There is a reason💕

Mormonism is uniquely American .  And then as all churches do they reach out to others and bring everyone they can from the whole world in .  My former neighbors were Mormons - the nicest family you’ll ever meet .  I’ve never understood how they can be so sweet and have such a wacky religion. I never heard of Fifth Element - watching it now.
Oh, Rays tithing article is what brought me to Bibletruths !  I was unhappy with someone at church saying tithes and offerings and I went to look it up and there it was .  You all know what happened next . You read and read and read and your life is changed in what seems like a blink of an eye .

Uniquely American, I didn’t know that. Wow. 🤔.
I have seen a couple of videos of what they are doing.
They are building 21 new temples across the world.
Four in Mexico, one more in America, one in South Korea,
and surprisingly ( not really) one in Italy, and other places.
They visited the pope for the first time ever to show
him the model.

Are Mormons Christian?

They consider themselves Christian.  The vast majority of Christendom does not consider them to be because they don’t believe in the Bible only and they don’t have the same beliefs in who Jesus Christ is.  If you remember in 2012 in the U.S, Mitt Romney ran for president and a lot of Christians would not vote for him because he is Mormon.  Oddly enough they thought maybe the other guy was a Christian.  We have wacky beliefs. We can talk ourselves into almost anything.  I’m including me in that but I sure hope I am wiser now.

I watched that episode; would like to believe that this is God's way of opening the eyes and ears of those that need to come out of it and search for His truths.  My son when he was a teenager became involved with mormons; although they were good people and I learned a lot,  could not believe how disillusioned he was; not wanting him to dig in further I didn't want to strongly rebut their beliefs.  Prayer was the answer!!  When he went off to university, he did not want to live with a mormon sponsor and finally no longer communicates with his mormon friends.  Soooo thankful.  Still praying tho that God will draw him.
