Health concern

Porter:
Hi octoberose,
I don't have much in the way of advice, but I just wanted to tell you that I can relate to how you are feeling. I have high blood pressure and was prescribed a beta blocker for it. Taking such a tiny pill that can affect my heart scared me to death. Not to mention the possible side effects.

Being the introvert that I am, it can be hard to talk to people or express my feelings, or even get close to someone. Just posting on this forum is a bit of a challenge sometimes, believe it or not.

We may not see eye to eye on some things, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't pray for another on this forum. So, I just wanted to share with you that I too am praying for you. I sincerely do hope you feel better.

I can relate.  I am quite the introvert and also find it difficult to express myself.  When I do, I tend to feel embarrassed and vulnerable.  Been trying to fight that as of late.

Hi October Rose. I just came from the doc and my blood pressure is 174 over 88 so
it’s pretty bad and I have been on meds for the past year , so the doctor has added
a diuretic/ water pill to take with it so maybe that will help.
My dad , and sister died of heart disease and my brother had a massive heart attack
a few months ago so it definitely runs in my family. My daughter also has it.

I also have high cholesterol and I used to take statin drugs but gave them up because
of muscle cramps. My doctor wasn’t too happy about that so she sent me to a specialist.
He was very nice and didn’t try to push them on me. I told him I didn’t like taking pills.
This was a very strange visit.
He mentioned a place in the USA that had many addictions and deaths because of pills
pushed on people and told me he understood about not wanting to take them, anyway
about two weeks later I got a phone call from him. He said he just wanted to let me know
that he agreed with me about not taking the statins. That was so awesome. I felt like
God was confirming through this specialist that I was doing the right thing.

I also suffer from arthritis and sciatica . I’m falling apart I tell ya, ha!ha!

Got some good news. After waiting for three and a half years , my husband finally got
a date to have hip surgery next month. My neighbours have offered to help take care of him
and take him to his appointments as I do not drive anymore. Thank God for placing people
in my life to help me .  I hope and pray October Rose and all of our BT family for God’s
will in all our lives to keep and guide us in all His ways and strengthen us in spirit , wisdom
and endurance to continue in His word and overcome this world as our Lord and Saviour, Christ did.
May God Bless you all.

In Christ, Pamela

Your husband and you will be in our thoughts and prayers.

Pamela, I’m grateful you shared all that. Prayers make all the difference and you (and I) am not alone.   I’m taking all the things, a supplement drink  called Cardio Miracle (not wanting to sound like an infomercial ), I’m taking garlic which is good for blood pressure ( I tired taking it raw but it was awful so I ordered small, potent capsules) and a variety of other things.  Of course diet is very important and I appreciated the video links on this thread.  My cholesterol has never been a problem, but I’m never going to take a statin regardless.  I believe they do more harm then good.  I think you have a doctor who is trying to go under the radar to help you because they are called out for telling the truth.
My husband had hip replacement about 7 seven years ago.  He had a rough couple of days at the beginning, but he rapidly improved.    Is this the kind of surgery your husband is having?  Praying all goes well.      And thank you for all your encouragement. Your heart is so centered on God and His sovereignty and that always shines through.
