Health concern
« on: November 19, 2022, 12:14:07 AM »

So, I took my blood pressure today .  It can run high, but I’m not medicated for it.  It was very high today. I’m doing everything I know to do to help lessen it. I can’t get into the doctors for a couple of weeks, and I’m not looking forward to medication.  I don’t have any obvious symptoms. I guess I’m asking for prayer, healing , and advice if you have tried anything alternatively to lessen your blood pressure. Thank you for any help and all prayers.

There are many natural things you can do to lower your blood pressure, but I don't know of anything that works super fast. If it's really high, perhaps calling an ambulance is the best choice.  I do not like medication either, but in a potential emergency situation like this, it might be the best option.

I found the following video.  I can't vouch for these techniques , but folks in the comments section said it worked.

Hi OctoberRose,

I have come to really trust Dr. Eric Berg's medical opinion, I think he knows what he's talking about and has thoroughly researched his subject.
But, we all are human and he makes mistakes too.  But, here's a link.  Apparently, high blood pressure is insulin related.
I hope this helps you.  It seems that Intermittent Fasting and the keto diet is a very good help to stave off or cure.

Hi octoberose,

Here is another Dr. Berg video that I can vouch for concerning quitting the use of sugar in your regular diet.

I began several years ago and lost 30 pounds over about 2 years.
I feel much better now and have much less joint pain from arthritis.
And was able to stop taking expensive Celebrex for the joint inflammation.

Note: it is not easy the first couple of weeks because a person is addicted to sugar just like a smoker or other bad habit.
So prepare for the challenge by stocking up on lots of non sugar, fresh foods of your choice to keep you from cheating.

See this youtube site.

My two cents: I don't have any joint problems and I give taking vitamin D for the last 40 years all the credit.

Bob could not be more right. Sugar is poison. Stay away from the sweets and carbs. That's what Ray did when he had diabetes and was grossly overweight. In one year he lost all that weight and he was able to stop taking insulin!

I thought I posted yesterday but it didn’t go through .  I appreciate the concern - I had cataract surgery this week and I was afraid of another BP spike but I did ok ( cataract surgery is a weird experience ! )    I do well on a low carb diet - not so well when I go off of it .  Gods spirit of self control would be my next prayer request!    And I hold everything in - feelings , disappointments, self recrimination .  That probably doesn’t help .

Hi October,
It may be that some will not agree with me, but I am confident that I am correct in the following advice.
It is natural for a woman more than a man to listen to her feelings and let them guide her.
It is also natural for both women and men to struggle with disappointment in life.
However, self recrimination although natural as well, is a burden we need not carry, because all of our mistakes and sins against man and against God are taken care of by the Cross of Christ.
=
We are not here on earth to learn to do better and become more perfect so that we qualify for the gift of life.
There is absolutely no thing that we can do to better our chances for life without end with God.
It is not a matter of chance.
The gift of life has already been provided for ALL, each in their own turn.
=
Therefore recriminations are a waste of time and effort and only lead to a poorer opinion of ourselves. That is not uplifting or beneficial or the will of God.
What our struggles do provide us eventually is the recognition of our helplessness and need for God to make us what God wants us to be ALL by God's power and determination.
So, do not worry one little bit about any past, present or future sin that has been troubling you, just let it go.
=
Of course we do our best daily to show our thankfulness to God for all God's blessings, but that is enough.

When our Lord Jesus returns and we are resurrected, HE will give us a NEW and Perfect heart of love and willing obedience that we could never achieve ourselves. No one but Christ ever has...!

Hi octoberose,
I don't have much in the way of advice, but I just wanted to tell you that I can relate to how you are feeling. I have high blood pressure and was prescribed a beta blocker for it. Taking such a tiny pill that can affect my heart scared me to death. Not to mention the possible side effects.

Being the introvert that I am, it can be hard to talk to people or express my feelings, or even get close to someone. Just posting on this forum is a bit of a challenge sometimes, believe it or not.

We may not see eye to eye on some things, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't pray for another on this forum. So, I just wanted to share with you that I too am praying for you. I sincerely do hope you feel better.

I can relate.  I am quite the introvert and also find it difficult to express myself.  When I do, I tend to feel embarrassed and vulnerable.  Been trying to fight that as of late.

Hi October Rose. I just came from the doc and my blood pressure is 174 over 88 so
it’s pretty bad and I have been on meds for the past year , so the doctor has added
a diuretic/ water pill to take with it so maybe that will help.
My dad , and sister died of heart disease and my brother had a massive heart attack
a few months ago so it definitely runs in my family. My daughter also has it.

I also have high cholesterol and I used to take statin drugs but gave them up because
of muscle cramps. My doctor wasn’t too happy about that so she sent me to a specialist.
He was very nice and didn’t try to push them on me. I told him I didn’t like taking pills.
This was a very strange visit.
He mentioned a place in the USA that had many addictions and deaths because of pills
pushed on people and told me he understood about not wanting to take them, anyway
about two weeks later I got a phone call from him. He said he just wanted to let me know
that he agreed with me about not taking the statins. That was so awesome. I felt like
God was confirming through this specialist that I was doing the right thing.

I also suffer from arthritis and sciatica . I’m falling apart I tell ya, ha!ha!

Got some good news. After waiting for three and a half years , my husband finally got
a date to have hip surgery next month. My neighbours have offered to help take care of him
and take him to his appointments as I do not drive anymore. Thank God for placing people
in my life to help me .  I hope and pray October Rose and all of our BT family for God’s
will in all our lives to keep and guide us in all His ways and strengthen us in spirit , wisdom
and endurance to continue in His word and overcome this world as our Lord and Saviour, Christ did.
May God Bless you all.

In Christ, Pamela

Pamela, I’m grateful you shared all that. Prayers make all the difference and you (and I) am not alone.   I’m taking all the things, a supplement drink  called Cardio Miracle (not wanting to sound like an infomercial ), I’m taking garlic which is good for blood pressure ( I tired taking it raw but it was awful so I ordered small, potent capsules) and a variety of other things.  Of course diet is very important and I appreciated the video links on this thread.  My cholesterol has never been a problem, but I’m never going to take a statin regardless.  I believe they do more harm then good.  I think you have a doctor who is trying to go under the radar to help you because they are called out for telling the truth.
My husband had hip replacement about 7 seven years ago.  He had a rough couple of days at the beginning, but he rapidly improved.    Is this the kind of surgery your husband is having?  Praying all goes well.      And thank you for all your encouragement. Your heart is so centered on God and His sovereignty and that always shines through.

Thank you Eugene, we need all the prayers we can get.❤️

Thanks October Rose, for also sharing. I’m so happy to hear your husband rapidly
improved, I pray the same for my husband.
I need to work on my weight . I put on 20 lbs during Covid and it’s not only uncomfortable,
but puts stress on my back, which is getting worse.

I think you are right about that Doctor. I’m grateful for his confirmation about statins.
BTW, I had cataract surgery also, last November. Did you have to take a trillion eye drops?
My eyes are still dry so I got a new product called Thealoz Duo . I got it from the eye clinic.
They last longer and feel better than the over the counter drops. Of course they cost more.
What doesn’t these days eh?

How are you doing since moving to Texas, is your family all doing well ? I pray you are
and also our BT family. God Bless You All.

Heb.12:6…. For whom the Lord loves He chastens and scourges every son whom He receives.

Sigh, 😔 No pain no gain, but sometimes it’s so hard.

Come Lord Jesus
In Christ, Pamela
