You are quite welcome Wendy.

Dave in Tenn:
What would you do differently if you knew?

Dennis Vogel:
Mat 24:42  Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.

Mat 24:43  But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.

Mat 24:44  Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.

arion:
The last thing Jesus said before his ascension;

Act 1:7-9  And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.  But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.  And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.

To quote an infamous politician.....'does it really matter?'  With respect to the one who asked the question what if we knew the exact day of Christ's return....would it change anything?  We have all kinds of grand and glorious promises from the scriptures that are clear.  I'm not sure that the question being asked is knowable or what good it would do to know it.

We know that the world seems to be spiraling into a dark abyss and that is something we should be expecting as the time for Christ's return gets closer.  And we certainly are nearer to that day than when we first believed.  God is in full charge of these days and times and nothing is going to happen which isn't a necessary part of that plan.  As I remind myself daily (and sometime several times daily) that if there was a better way for God to bring his will to pass for creation and human beings in particular then he would do it that way.

It is enough I think!.

Well, I wouldn’t be spending $4000 on a furnace, I would just patch up what I have and give the rest away!  I would go see everyone in my family  and my good friends to make sure they know they are valued and loved and that God is real but that means going from Delaware to California and finding my son who doesn’t want me to talk to him.  If I knew the hour, and I knew it would be after I died, then nothing would change.  I know I’ll close my eyes in death and open them at the resurrection, and I take a lot of comfort in that.  But if I knew He would return in this decade, I think I would be just plain giddy.  But we know the seasons and we can tell when the time is getting short, and I believe it’s getting short.   Matt. 24:37 “ For as were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man”.   The Ark was a very real tangible sign, and when it was done, it began to rain.
