Please pray
« on: January 13, 2023, 03:07:58 PM »

My husband had hip replacement surgery yesterday but there was so much damage
from years of waiting that it didn’t work. They are going to do it again, don’t know when.He has to remain in the hospital.
Please pray for him and God’s will to be done in his life. Thank you.

In Christ , Pamela

Oh Pamela, I am praying they will be guided by our Good God who heals, and repair the damage to his hip. I’m so sorry this set back has happened.

Thank you for your prayers.
My husband had another surgery on Monday by a different doctor. He came home yesterday.
It was a nightmare for him. He couldn’t get out of there fast enough. But our God is good and saw him through. Our healthcare system is horrible.
I will need much patience for this chapter in my life. Six weeks of recovery with a grumpy old man.My husband calls me nurse wretched.lol.I have to maintain a sense of humour or I will go crazy 😜.
God gave us kind and helpful neighbours, and prayers form you all I am sure He heard.Praise God.

Friend Pamela,

I do not recommend what you and many of our forum friends have to endure in this life as a precursor to the blessings we will have in the next life with our LORD and elder brother, but I would just remind us all that God tells us that every tear will be wiped away and our conscious experiences then and for all time thereafter will be so wonderous that we will not be able to compare them.

With sincere brotherly love and caring, Bob

Pamela, sorry to hear of these troubles.  We can control how we react to them.  Think positive things.  Just keep doing the next thing.  I too pray that God would comfort you and Charles during this very difficult time. -Jason

Thank you all so very much. We are very grateful and my husband wants you
to know that. We are hunkering down now for a snowstorm. Our storms are
always on weekends. I pray for y’all, that’s American for you all, God has given me the gift of languages don’t ya know. 😂

All kidding aside, I love you’

And,,, my husband has been asking lots of questions about God and his plan,
sometimes he surprises me. This morning he said “ how you treat others is how you treat God”. That my friends , coming from the mouth of my husband , is a miracle.
He has always been good to others but now he credits God instead of himself.
That’s wonderful.

There ain’t no atheists in foxholes!

I’m failing miserably. I am so angry watching my husband suffer.
The drugs they give for pain help for awhile but he has to go through
a washout period, ( withdrawal) before he can go back to his regular meds,
which are also an opiate. He’s trying to ween off and every time he does,
he gets this horrific sensation ,starts with tingling in the feet and goes up to the knees. It’s like restless legs syndrome magnified a thousand times.
He cry’s and doesn’t want to live. He also had sinus, ear, throat, and an eye infection.  The thing is, I know that all is of God , but how do I tell my husband
that . I know it’s God’s will and he even said it himself but he doesn’t understand,
not really. How can I say to a person who is suffering that this pain is for a good
reason and is temporary and will pass? It feels cold and unsympathetic to him for
me to say that , even though it’s the truth. Please pray for us. We are frustrated
that this surgeon may have done nerve damage. My husband has ulcers also and
it’s one pill after another with side effects listed like full documents, they are so long.
Yes , I am angry, not at God , but at a system that is so evil and a failing
healthcare system . The thing is I know in my heart of hearts that this is all in the plan of God and I still feel like a failure because of this angry beast within. I want
it dead but I know I am yet carnal. Sometimes it’s overwhelming.Yet I keep praying
for Gods will to be done and sometimes God’s will makes me tremble. I just want to die.

This is a very heartbreaking and difficult situation your going through.
I don't think you should say anything to your husband. Just keep on caring for him, supporting him, loving him and praying for him. Trying to make him as comfortable as possible. Actions speak louder then words. He will see Jesus in your actions.
When it comes to family they don't tend to want to listen to us talk about Jesus, but they will see are actions.
Make sure your taking care of yourself . Making sure your eating and sleeping. Get some alone time if you can. You need to be strong so you can take care of your husband.

You can do all things through Christ who gives you strength.

You are not failing, you are just human.  It is very hard to witness the pain and suffering of a loved one.  It is a very difficult journey to go through, but our God is faithful and He will not forsake you.

Keeping you both in my prayers.

Thank you all for your prayers, please keep them coming.
My husband is in withdrawal now from the hydro morphine
pain meds that he was given for pain after surgery.
He has to go 24 hours before he can take his regular meds.
So far it’s been 5 hours. He just spoke the pharmacist and she told him he has
to go through it. It is very difficult, he wants to die. It comes in waves
and is sometimes frightening because he gets very angry. I know He is in God’s
hands and one way or another it will pass. Again thank you for your prayers.
I am grateful and love you all.
BTW Jason, my husband’s name is Gerald.🙂

Do any of you know of anything for this restless leg syndrome?💕
