The Sermon on the Mount.

Ken:
I know and understand that the sermon on the Mount is for us as Ray explained in his material. However, I don't understand at the end of His sermon on the Mount it says this in
Mat 7:28  "And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine:"
It says "the people " were astonished.  I would've thought that it would've said that "the disciples " were astonished.  Am I missing something here?

Out of the great multitudes of people who walked with him, not many were actual disciples who were interested in learning but only in being physically healed.

 Jhn 6:2
Then a great multitude followed Him, because they saw His signs which He performed on those who were diseased.
