Luke 12:35
Be dressed ready for service and
keep your lamps burning,
Luke 12:36 like servants waiting for their master to return from a wedding banquet, so that when he comes and knocks they can immediately open the door for him.
Luke 21:36 Watch ye therefore, and
pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
1 Peter 4:7 But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.
1 Peter 4:8
And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.
2 Peter 3:12
Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
Rev 3:3
Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.
To recap:
- watch, stay alert
- pray always
- be dressed ready, keep your lamps burning
- love one another
- anticipate and hasten (desire earnestly) the coming of the day of God
- remember what you heard and received (remember the teaching you were given and heard)
- repent
But all ten virgins (both the wise and foolish) did fall asleep while waiting, it's strange that the wise five didn't stay alert.
Noah prepared an ark (a safe haven) for his family and all the beasts, I think Ray and Dennis also prepared the spiritual ark, aka bible-truths.com, for us beasts
