The Wretched Man

(1/1)

Mickyd:
I'm not much of a poet....but I hope you enjoy!

The Wretched Man

You’ve led me here where my heart burns with pain.
Then comfort me with faith for your glory must remain.

In my most desperate hour you gave your love so free.
I can’t understand why because no good is found in me.

O wretched man that I am!

In times of deafness, I did not hear the spirit call.
You gave your life for sinners, that’s the greatest gift of all.

In times of blindness, I could not see the light.
But with love you strengthened me and gave me back my sight.

O wretched man that I am!

With fear of Hell, you led me into Babylon.
The promise of life gave me faith to carry on.

At the foot of the rock, I fell upon my knees.
Then your spirit moved on me like a warm summer breeze.

O wretched man that I am!

Come out of her my son! You said with a shout.
You’ve done your time in Babylon; it’s time to come out.

You light my path to follow with pure blinding light.
With your word you give a sword to use in the fight.

O wretched man that I am!

When my bones return to dust, I will wait upon your call.
As you are all in one, you will soon be all in all!

Why did you choose me? O wretched man that I am!
It’s my one desire to do the will of I AM!
