Concordant Literal Version
« on: October 29, 2006, 12:50:37 PM »

Hi everyone,

I've made the CLV complete with Old and New testaments available for download.

Just unzip it and copy it into your "c:\Program Files\e-Sword" folder.

This is the complete bible and not just the new testament.

Here's the link:

Peace,

Andy

Here’s how to tell if you have faith; how do you live… what do you do… what do you accomplish in life… what are your goals… What is there about you that proves that you have this faith and belief inside of you? What?

Perfect timing Andy. I was just trying to figure out the "Interlinear Scriptural Analyzer" Gena made reference to in a post the other day, and was having problems getting the CLV.
Thanks for posting this!!

I posted again to bring this back to the first page in order to make it easier to find.

Let me know if anyone has problems downloading the file.

Also here's the link for e-Sword incase anybody doesn't know about this free bible study tool for the PC.
e-Sword has to be installed for the CLV to work.

Awesome. I've been wanting to see the Old Testament of the CLV; only the New Testament's available online. I'm surprised this is available because the CLV website (http://www.concordant.org/version/index.html) says that the Old Testament isn't complete, yet; and that what's currently available is only availale in booklet form.

Andy,
Thanks so very much for the OT from Concordant. I have a hard copy and on-line copy of NT and really look forward to getting into the OT. It is sometime difficult to read but I trust it more than any of the other versions.

Hi Andy,
I was so excited to see this! I downloaded it into my e-sword file and when I went to open it, it told me that it was no good.
 :(
I went into my e-sword and sure enough, it was not there.
Perhaps you know what I need to do?

You extracted the ZIP and then moved clv.bbl into the e-Sword folder?

Maybe you're using a version of e-Sword that's too old.

It is sometime difficult to read but I trust it more than any of the other versions.

It's like the King James. Out of curiosity, would you say it's more difficult than the King James?

Thanks heaps for that!

I lost my other e-sword I'd downloaded and I had to download it all again, but for some reason the CLV isn't on the e-sword site anymore and I didn't think I'd be able to get it anymore.

Thanks heaps!

Hi
If anyone has a PDA you can get bible downloads for free from www.olivetree.com. I currently have three versions of the bible MKJV Youngs and Rotherams on my device. I have found it extremely helpful in studying the scriptures as I can very easily switch between versions in order to compare and contrast. It is also very easy to do word searches as well as copy and paste onto word documents. It has made studying the scriptures so much more easier for me .

Linny I am at work so I cannot help at the moment.   I have a page bookmarked at home where I downloaded the CLV for e-sword and it worked fine.  I will post it this evening.

Paul,
I would not say the CLV is more difficult to read than the KJV but I am so much more familiar with the KJV. I do like to compare verses and have marked through everlasting and hell in my KJV and replaced with aions and hades.
