The Difference between Theory and Practice

In theory the difference between practice and theory is due to practical considerations that theorists find it impractical to fit into their theories.

In practice, theory uses the practice of theorising about practical matters, while not noticing that the theoretical method practically distorts the theory beyond application to practice.

Theoretically then the practical facts are that the theory is in practice good for predicting what happens in theory, but impractical as a theory with direct implications for practice, except where theory states that the practice is sufficiently close to the theory to make any difference for all practical purposes theoreticaly zero.

In practice this does not happen very often.

Excellent Joe ;D

.......all true :D....in theory..... and in practise! ;D ;D...if truth can be in theory. :-\....practically speaking of course ;D

Now I know where the term 'gobbledygook' came from. ;D

dcfreedom

so theoretically you are telling me it is not practical to practice theory ;D

hillsbororiver

DC, yes you've got it!  ;)

Always remember though that it is practical to practice theoretically a theory but not the other way around!  :D

Thank you for helping to clarify  ???

Joe

So no amount of theories make a truth.  Theory needs to be supported BY the truth....and if it ever is....then it is no longer a theory!.....

Theoretically speaking; this practice is nuts!  ;D
However...a merry heart doeth good, like a medicine! :)
And that is a fact! :)

Sorry ya'll for interrupting a topic that I don't think I am smart enough to be in on!!!! Maybe the theory of loving others as ourselves means we do whatever we see right in our paths each day! Silly, Jennie!!!

hillsbororiver

Dear Jennie,

This topic really was intended to be a spoof of the "wisdom of this world" there is so much nonsense passing itself off as deep and intellectual, often this elitism goes unchallenged because not many want to admit "this makes no sense to me, there is nothing here."

1Co 3:18  Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.

1Co 3:19  For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.

1Co 3:20  And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.

Yes, Jennie I believe you are absolutely correct;

Gal 6:9  And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

Gal 6:10  As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

His Peace and Wisdom to you,

Joe

Oh, this is scary ... I think I actually understood it.  :o  Or maybe just the theory of it all.
