SLOW DANCE
« on: November 07, 2006, 03:17:08 PM »

This poem was written by a terminally ill young girl in a New York Hospital
It was sent by a medical doctor

SLOW DANCE

Have you ever watched
kids

On a merry-go-round?

Or listened to the rain

Slapping on the ground?

Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight?

Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?

You better slow down.

Don't dance so fast.

Time is short.

The music won't last.

Do you run through each day

On the fly?

When you ask How are you?

Do you hear the reply?

When the day is
done

Do you lie in your bed

With the next hundred chores

Running through your head?

You'd better slow down

Don't dance so fast.

Time is short.

The music won't last.

Ever told your child,

We'll do it tomorrow?

And in your haste,

Not see his

sorrow?

Ever lost touch,

Let a good friendship
die

Cause you never had time

To call and say,"Hi"

You'd better slow down.

Don't dance so fast.

Time is short.

The music won't last.

When you run so fast to get somewhere

You miss half the fun of getting there.

When you worry and hurry through your day,

It is like an unopened gift....

Thrown away.

Life is not a race.

Do take it slower

Hear the
music

Before the song is over.

This young girl has 6 months left to live, and as her dying wish, she wanted to send a
letter telling everyone to live their life to the fullest, since she never will.
She'll never make it to prom, graduate from high school, or get married and have a family of her own.

Poignant, sad, sweet....dear God give her strength to endure whatever lies ahead! and if possible....change the report of the doctors and raise her up! In Jesus' name! :'(

What a wonder this young person must be! Those words will give me much food for thought. I pray that God touches in an even bigger way , this little life.

A very strange thing happened here in our town a couple of days ago....another sweet child...not the one mentioned above....fell asleep in the Lord....she was eight years old....a close friend of the family reported to me that on the afternoon of the child's death she (the child ) told her mother "I have to go now...there are two fairies in the room."   Now the family was not a Christian family, never discussed angels or God or heaven...so, what was it that this little 8 year old saw?  ???

How very sad but so comforting that God made this little one's transition in a comforting way... in the way this little one would be unafraid. We can learn so much from children. I think they are among the wisest on the planet! Much love and prayers of comfort, Jennie

I'll pass that along to the family, Jennie.
and yes....I was thinking that God must have made it easy for this little one to go....
I think she saw angels ushering her to her place of rest....but just didn't know what they were. Still, somehow, she understood that it was time "for her to go!" amazing!  :)
