Topic: What you thankful for? (Read 8760 times)

Since Thanksgiving Day is almost here, I'd thought I'd ask what you all are thankful for.

Other than the obvious (salvation, God's grace, His giving me eyes to see His truths, etc.), some of the things I'm thankful for are:

1. My parents, who did their best to raise me right, and who still take care of me when I need them (like after major surgery);

2. My house, with a warm bed and plenty of food;

and last but not least:

3. My cats (you all KNEW they'd be on my list,

LOL), who, in all seriousness, have taught me more about the love of God than any human being on this earth.

I am thankful for:

1. My husband who is always there for me.

2. My son, who is my gift, my pride, and my joy.

3. My parents who helped me to be the person I am today.

4. My Friend and Sister in Christ (I don't want to mention any names but I hope she knows who she is) without her I would definetly go crazy.

There are many many things that I am thankful for and it would be very hard and lengthy to try and list them all.

The most I think I am thankful for is that God has given me a best friend that i can share my life with and that would be my WIFE! Then thankful for all she gives me and does for me. Every thing I am thankful for in some way involves her whether small or big.

My children who are doing their very best to ensure that I will not be the rich guy who has less of a chance of entering the Kingdom than a camel through the eye of a needle.

My wife who keeps me from being bored or idle with a never ending "honey do" list.

My boss who has the confidence in me to expedite all the problems that no one else finds in their job description.

My (3) cats who honor me by laying on top of me so they can keep warm during the cool winter nights, helping to keep me from tossing and turning unless I want to hear the hissing and yelping of cats scurrying about.

All these things and more, $:-\$

Having a grandfather that had the smarts to let the oil companies drill on his land.
Growing up on a cattle ranch.
Being taught to work hard regardless of your wages (i sometimes let my voice be heard on this one, but i still work hard).
Being taught how to do a lot of different things (jack of all trades/master of none).
Gotta include my beautiful long haired, coyote attacking/lizard chasing/fly eating, Calico cat, Kali.
Lot of things

AND, Bible-Truths.

Well, I'm going to say thanks to good health.

I'm not in prefect health, have to pop pills every day for high blood pressure and reflux

But I'm doing pretty good, my husband is in pretty good health too.

I have 3 daughters, in good health.

I am so grateful that God in His wisom has allowed makind to develope the InterNet.

It has allowed all of us to learn and share .
Through growth in Christ it has provided me fellowship with many of my brothers and sisters.

My feet that have carried me so far. My Lord that has been ahead of me all the way.

My eyes that can see. My Lord that has shown me what my eyes could not see.

My mind that can think. My Lord that has given me the unthinkable.

My family that surrounds me. My Lord that embraces me into a bigger family....All of you.

My achy breaky heart.....

and more...so much more....and we don't even have Thanks giving here in Africa!

I'm thankful for my wonderful husband, the best daughter in the world, my "twin" brother, my home, and most of all, that God is in my life, for without Him I am nothing.

I am also thankful for the fact that I can watch T.V.
Monday - HEROES 9 p.m. on NBC
Tuesday - HOUSE 9 p.m. on FOX
Wednesday - DAY BREAK 9 p.m. (LOST starts again on Feb. 7, 2007) on ABC
Friday - DR. WHO 5 p.m. (We have satellite T.V.) on SCIFI
Next year, I'll be able to finish watching STARGATE SG-1 (YYEEEEEEAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

I'm thankful to know God, not man, is in control of this universe.

For my husband, and our two healthy, beautiful children.
For the free country we live in.
The roof over my head.
My job (and my husbands') to pay for the roof.
To know God, not man, is in control of my life.

Your analogies are beautiful, Arcturus.

It doesn't matter that you don't celebrate Thanksgiving Day as a national holiday in your country. For believers in Christ, every day should be Thanksgiving.

"Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ" (Ephesians 5:20).

i'm having a good time reading this thread.

1) i'm thankful that He is with me always.

2) that my parents are still alive.

3) that i can still work. the med community suggested i look into disability years ago.

4) i see my health improving. i walked 2 miles yesterday.

5) my house mates. 2 dogs and 5 cats. they continue to teach me about forgiveness.

6) a big pile of wood in the yard. it's cold outside this a.m.

7) finding this forum.

i'll stop before i put you all to sleep.
