ever see a grown man cry
« on: December 08, 2006, 10:29:44 AM »

driven down the road bawling my eyes out.  sight to see.

Aselin Debison Lyrics

The Gift Lyrics

A poor orphan girl named Maria
Was walking the market one day
She stopped for to rest by the road side
Where a bird with a broken wing laid
A few moments passed till she saw it
For it's feathers were covered with sand
And soon clean and rapped it was traveling
In the warmth of Maria's small hand
She happily gave her last paso
Of a cage made of freshes and twine
She fed it loose corn from the market
Watched it grow stronger with time
Now the gift giving service was coming
And the chruch arm with tinsel and light
An' all of the town folk brought presents
To lay by the manger that night
There were diamonds, incents and perfumes
And packages fit for a king
But for one raged bird in his small cage
Maria had nothing to bring
She waited till just before midnight
So no one would see her go in
And crying she knelt be the manger
For her gift was unworthy of him
Then a voice spoke to her through the darkness
Maria what brings you to me
If the bird in the cage is your offering
Open the door let me see
So she trembled she did as he asked her
An' out of the cage the bird flew
Soaring up into the rafters
On a wing that would feel good just new
An' just as the midnight bells rang out
And the little bird started to sing
A song that no words could recapture
For its beauty was fit for a king
Now Maria felt blessed just to listen
To the cascade a note sweet and long
As her offering was lifted to heaven
By the very first night in Gales song

Thanks for that, Chuck.

I think many of us men probably heard from our dads/moms when we were growing up that "boys don't cry." I did many, many times. And, I became very "strong/hard hearted", whatever you want to label it.
After God dragged my out of Babylon and gave me the sight to see EVERYTHING in/through Him, I will cry at the drop of a hat. It does not matter where I am or what I'm doing. For example; has anyone seen the Disney movie, Eight Below, about the sled dogs? I had emotions like I was there with them and was down in the floor crying like a baby. It could be just helping an elderly person at the grocery store; all is good and then when I walk away from this person, I will lose it.
I don't understand at this time "why", but it is what it is.

Oh, yeah, I saw that last week with my mom. When it was over, we both cried our eyes out.  :'( :'(  (Yes, I love cats AND dogs!)

Siberian Huskies and Alaskan Malamutes are soooo beautiful. I dream one day of adopting one and naming her Sasha. :) As long as I live in a condo, that would not be possible ... well, possible, but not the best environment for a big dog. She'll need lots of room to run.

AFA seeing grown men cry, I never understood what was wrong with that. Crying is an emotional release, just like laughing. I don't think any less of a man who cries; the only thing it says to me is, he's human. And we all are.

*SPOILER - IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THE MOVIE YET BUT PLAN TO, PLEASE DON'T READ ANY FURTHER!*

I guess the writer thought that finding most of the dogs alive would make for a happy ending. It was not. Watching those 2 dogs die and the others struggle to survive, plus how he found the one but not the other, was enough to make it a "never watch again" film.
