Joy to the World
« on: December 15, 2006, 08:43:29 AM »

Hello friends,

Just thought I would share a song with you today.  It has always been a favorite, but now I see the gospel proclaimed in it.  The Lord IS come.  it has always bugged me that people sing the word "has" in it and it is a shame to only sing it at "christmastime".  My
third graders were singing this with such gusto yesterday, I felt His presence within me.  Truly He saves the world.  Let heaven and nature sing the wonders of His LOVE!
His Bless-sings to you,
Barbara

  Join in the choir!

Joy To The World

Joy to the world, the Lord is come!
Let earth receive her King;
Let every heart prepare Him room,
And Heaven and nature sing,
And Heaven and nature sing,
And Heaven, and Heaven, and nature sing.

Joy to the earth, the Savior reigns!
Let men their songs employ;
While fields and floods, rocks, hills and plains
Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat, repeat, the sounding joy.

No more let sins and sorrows grow,
Nor thorns infest the ground;
He comes to make His blessings flow
Far as the curse is found,
Far as the curse is found,
Far as, far as, the curse is found.

He rules the world with truth and grace,
And makes the nations prove
The glories of His righteousness,
And wonders of His love,
And wonders of His love,
And wonders, wonders, of His love.

Psalmsinger,

  My favorite one is O Holy Night.

  O Holy Night Lyrics
Christmas Carol Lyrics
O Holy Night! The stars are brightly shining,
It is the night of the dear Saviour's birth.
Long lay the world in sin and error pining.
Till He appeared and the Spirit felt its worth.
A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices,
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn.
Fall on your knees! Oh, hear the angel voices!
O night divine, the night when Christ was born;
O night, O Holy Night , O night divine!
O night, O Holy Night , O night divine!

Led by the light of faith serenely beaming,
With glowing hearts by His cradle we stand.
O'er the world a star is sweetly gleaming,
Now come the wisemen from out of the Orient land.
The King of kings lay thus lowly manger;
In all our trials born to be our friends.
He knows our need, our weakness is no stranger,
Behold your King! Before him lowly bend!
Behold your King! Before him lowly bend!

Truly He taught us to love one another,
His law is love and His gospel is peace.
Chains he shall break, for the slave is our brother.
And in his name all oppression shall cease.
Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we,
With all our hearts we praise His holy name.
Christ is the Lord! Then ever, ever praise we,
His power and glory ever more proclaim!
His power and glory ever more proclaim!

  This song has always touched me in a deep way.  I guess it has to do with more than the lyrics, but the way the music is constructed which is truly majestic.

  Sincerely,

  Anne C. McGuire

Ah, the melodies....  Yes, All truth and all good gifts are from Him. I try to celebrate the Spirit of Christ that He gave as an example in His flesh every day. Christendom tends to sing the truth in scripture all the while holding on to heresies. What liberty there is in Christ Jesus!
How about Hark the herald angels sing:

   Hark the herald angels sing,
   Glory to the newborn king.
   Peace on earth and mercy mild,
   God and sinner reconciled.

Barbara,

  Yes the line "God and sinner reconcilled" has so much meaning to me now that I have found Ray's writings.  I am beginning to know God in a way that I could have never known in a "Church".  It is a blessing to finally say I know that God walks with me and I walk with him.

  Sincerely,
