Latin Vulgate Isaiah 14:12 "quomodo cecidisti de caelo lucifer qui mane oriebaris corruisti in terram qui vulnerabas gentes"
An easy explaination is that the KJV has come down from the Latin Vulgate (Old Testament in particular). This word meaning Venus, light bearer, daystar or morning star was mistakenly? capitalized (or on purpose to support a false doctrine) to create a name instead of the original intent.
The word lucifer is also used in 2 Peter 1:19 "et habemus firmiorem propheticum sermonem cui bene facitis adtendentes quasi lucernae lucenti in caliginoso loco donec dies inlucescat et lucifer oriatur in cordibus vestris" to which it is speaking of Christ.
