How much time we spend
« on: January 25, 2007, 01:23:04 PM »

The chart below represents a typical week:

Activity Hours spent per week Percent time

Sleeping 56 --------------------------------------------- 33%
Self- grooming 11 ----------------------------------------6%
Food preparation & eating 21-------------------------- 12%
Working 40 ----------------------------------------------24%
Commuting to work 5 ------------------------------------3%
Exercise 3 -------------------------------------------------1%
Maintenance (e.g. shopping for groceries)  14-------- 8%
Total 150 -------------------------------------------------87%

I found this chart and thought it was interesting how much time we spend doing things that we have to do, just to live.
I think about how it will be when we all have spiritual bodies and don't have to waste so much time, like sleeping.
We won't even get tired.
We won't have to be constantly substaining ourselves eating.
Grooming takes way to much time.
Does it count as exercise to walk from the computer to the kitchen to get something to eat  ::)

Kat,

For me excercising does count when I have to walk away from the computer to get stuff.  Gets me up and gets the blood pumping. Work in physics is defined as the expediture of energy.  So in that case I excercise all day even when I am sleeping.

I am glad that we will not have to do these things in eternity, though I wish and hope that we will be able to eat.  Eating is such a great experience.  It does say we will all partake and eat in heaven, so hopefully there's a big of non-ending supply of chocolate up there with my name on it.   ;D

  Sincerely,

Hi Anne,

Jesus ate after His resurrection.
So I would think it will be our preference to eat or not, because it will not be necessary  :)

Luk 24:42  And they handed to Him a piece of a broiled fish and of a honeycomb.
Luk 24:43  And He took it and ate before them.

Hi Arcturus,

I'm glad little things does consumes calories,
I just won't excercise for excercises sake any more  :-\

Bobby,

As long as your keep your paws off my special dark chocolate and my Mississippi Mud cake and wahtever I cannot name in this post, it will be okay.

You will have to fight my husband over the reeses, but as you called dibbs he will have to find something else to snack on.

  God bless you Bobby.

  Sincerely,

87% huh???  So with the other 13% we love, laugh, and play???  What about TV??  Computer fun (here on the forum)? Vacations??  Reading??  Sudoku??  Dare I say....Shopping??

Now, what about Bible study, prayer & fellowship, praise, helping neighbors, giving blood, helping at the old folks home, teaching our little ones....etc etc....

Doesn't seem like 13% is much time does it.   Oooh Kat, I do not like that chart.  It shows me what things I really value and seems like its mostly for ME!!..and about me!!  Beast get off the throne!
