Are you sure it is contention and not a fiery trial :D that you are sensing?  :D

May be we should do a word study on contention and trial and see where it leads. I think we will find trial and contention mean very different things :D

I see trial not contention.

1 Peter 1 : 7 That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ.

I appreciate others here so much after walking alone for so many years. I'm happy to have finally found family even if there are a few disagreements.

I'm glad that you see things differently Arcturus. Do you think that it is possible that what may be a trial for us may be a contention with someone else? I'm sensing some hurt feelings in a couple different threads. By all means lead on with the word study!

Yes exactly. The way Ray responds to some of his e-mail may look nasty, provocative and cruel but then go listen to him! He is neither nasty, contemptible or cruel. Ref...Ray's latest refutation on the idea of living together in his Audio Bible Study on Marriage.

There is not one bitter, vengeful emotion towards the person that I can detect. Not one!  There is only edification and exhortation and refutation. No contention. Oh no. NON. Just what is right, scriptural and true!

Go and listen for yourself if you have not done so already! Don't follow me or believe me.

Regarding contention, strife and argument......Ray quotes the mind of Christ and the word of God quite clearly and that might cause grief to the one who has got the idol of the heart! :D but only they would know if they have harmful thoughts towards Ray or not.....and if they do not know then all they have to do is look at whether their words are argumentative against the word of God or against any of his sheep.
