[hillsbororiver]

From your post I am not sure if you are in Texas or not.  If you are then welcome to the Grandest state in the Union, and if you are not, well then come and visit. Yeeehaaawww!!!!!!

LOL

Anne,

Your post reminded me of one of my favorite Lyle Lovett songs;

That's Right (You're Not From Texas)

You say you're not from Texas
Man as if I couldn't tell
You think you pull your boots on right
And wear your hat so well

So pardon me my laughter
'Cause I sure do understand
Even Moses got excited
When he saw the promised land

That's right you're not from Texas
That's right you're not from Texas
That's right you're not from Texas
But Texas wants you anyway

See I was born and raised in Texas
And it means so much to me
Though my girl comes from down in Georgia
We were up in Tennesse

And we were driving down the highway
She asked me baby what's so great
How come you're always going on
About your Lone Star State

I said that's right you're not from Texas
That's right you're not from Texas
That's right you're not from Texas
But Texas wants you anyway

Those boys from Carolina
They sure enough could sing
But when they come on down to Texas
We all showed them how to swing

They're OK in Oklahoma
Up in Arkansas they're fair
But those old folks in Missouri
They don't even know you're there

That's right you're not from Texas
That's right you're not from Texas
That's right you're not from Texas
But Texas wants you anyway

So won't you let me help you Mister
Just pull your hat down the way I do
And buy your pants just a little longer
And next time somebody laughs at you

You just tell them you're not from Texas
That's right you're not from Texas
That's right you're not from Texas
But Texas wants you anyway

That's right you're not from Texas
That's right you're not from Texas
That's right you're not from Texas
But Texas wants you anyway

P.S.  I have been here in Florida
       For close to 30 years
       Left New York for Florida
       Ain't never shed no tears

Joe

Joe,

Ahhhhh, yes the Confederacy, how the heck could I have forgotten that?     I would have never expected that.  And after driving in the south seeing the Confederate flag posted all over the place.

From your post I am not sure if you are in Texas or not.  If you are then welcome to the Grandest state in the Union, and if you are not, well then come and visit. Yeeehaaawww!!!!!!  New York is a fun state and city <smiles>

Gena, I just now saw that you posted the British Flag as to flying over Texas.

Dang!!!  Don't tell my 4th graders.  They think I know everything!!!

Joe,

Glad you posted that song.  Here's another one.

God Blessed Texas by Little Texas

"I've seen a lot of places
I've been around the world
I've seen some pretty faces
Been with some beautiful girls
But after all I've witnessed one thing still amazes me
Just like a miracle you have to see to believe

'Cause God blessed Texas with His own hand
Brought down angels from the promised land
Gave 'em a place where they could dance
If you wanna see heaven brother here's your chance
I've been sent to spread the message
God blessed Texas

First He lit sunshine
Then He made the waters deep
Then He gave us moonlight
For all the world to see
Well everybody knows that the Lord works in mysterious ways
He took a rest then on the very next day

God blessed Texas with His own hand
Brought down angels from the promised land
Gave 'em a place where they could dance
If you wanna see heaven brother here's your chance
I've been sent to spread the message
God blessed Texas

God blessed Texas with His own hand
Brought down angels from the promised land
Gave 'em a place where they could dance
If you wanna see heaven brother here's your chance
Well I've been sent to spread the message
God blessed Texas

Well I've been sent to spread the message
God blessed Texas
Well I've been sent to spread the message
Mmm...God blessed Texas"
