The Most Memorable Poker Game

<< < (2/4) > >>

jennie:
We've stayed up till all hours playing. I , of course, always fix "poker night" food. You know, Hot wings, jalapeno cheese dip, deep-fried habaneros, brownies, fudge, etc. It is a lot of innocent fun. We always give the pennnies back at the end of the evening or morning , whenever it finally ends. Back in the day we would of course have a bar set up too! Now we're somewhat "grown-up" and "reformed" so the bar is gone. I don't count beer though!!!!

Jennie,

Well if you are ever down here in the boondocks of West Texas, you certainly are more than welcome to come by and bring some of your poker munchies.  You seem to have great meals for every ocassion in mind.  I wonder if you have ever put together a cookbook or a meal planner together, if you ever publish it, I will buy it in a heartbeat.   :D

  Sincerely,

  Anne C. McGuire

gmik:
Adieu sweet Anne.

Nothing beats the first "Momma". Nothing!

Lord, all the pastors in christendom are turning over in their graves(or Rolls Royces)---such Godly ladies gambling!!!  Who'd da thunk it!!!

A Bientot!

rrammfcitktturjsp:
Gena,

Now that was funny.  I am trying to laugh in my hand not to wake up the precious bundle, I do not want to hear my name cried out in frustration at being woke up.  Godly ladies playing poker, I about fell of my chair imagining the preacher, Jonathan Edwards rolling over in his grave LOL at us.

Yes you are right, I have found something sweeter than chocholate and not bad for you at all, it is my little one's "Hi Momma" or something like Mooooommmmm when he cries out for me in the morning.  Ahhh, the joys of parenthood, and to think I was afraid of them.

  Sincerely,

  Anne C. McGuire

Anne,
Yes, the joys of parenthood ;D.  (And to think that my son's first word was..."GIT" (AKA..."GET" OUT OF THE WAY SADIE"...)  I had about tripped over our Bassett Hound/low rider who was under my feet while carrying Daniel in my arms and the silly dog made me almost trip with him and I yelled out "get out of the way Sadie!"..."...  and Daniel at about 5 or so months old said 'Git", and I could hardly believe it!)  His second word was "daddy", then the third word was finally "mama". :D
