BIBLE TRANSLATIONS/VERSIONS
Bev:
I was reading Ray's article about which Bible translation/version is best. I'm not certain, but I was taught I believe by direct revelation that the best Bible translation/version was and is THE HOLY SPIRIT'S translation. John 16:13 - Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. I don't too much worry about Bible versions when the leading of THE HOLY SPIRIT is upon me. I look at how the nation Israel, and then the sanhedrin and in Christ's day scribes and pharisees had original text from original versions and translations and still missed it. I love the KJV, but when led of Holy Spirit, have veered off to other versions. I believe it's all in Him though. For in Him we live, and move, and have our being Acts 17:28.
Anyway, does anyway else have any thoughts on this issue. I don't want anyone to think I'm a charlatan or in the least trying to go against what the boss says ;D.
IN CHRIST,
Bev

Hi Bev,
Notice the verse says HE WILL GUIDE YOU, the Spirit of truth shall GUIDE us into all truth. Personally, I prefer the older KJV, because I find the old fashioned thees and thous kind of eloquent. I do consult modern translations just to compare. And I believe only through the anointing can we begin to truly understand and discern what is being preached.
1 John 1:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.
1 John 4:6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.
Peace to you, Lisa

Hi Bev,
I don't think any here (at least to my knowledge) believe Ray is our "boss" or master, I see him as a teacher who has been led by the spirit to help us with understanding His Word, giving us spiritual keys that help to unlock the mysteries within the bible and how prayerful study under the guidance of His Spirit overcomes translation errors.
Here is a bit more from Ray's article; WHICH BIBLE TRANSLATION IS BEST?
The solution to better understanding the Scriptures and the will of God is not solely a matter of a better translation or a perfect translation. The early church had NO translations—they had the original Greek signatures, and copies of these signatures in the Greek language, which was universally understood throughout much of the Roman Empire—even Egyptians spoke Greek. And yet, the first century was a time of MASS APOSTASY in the church. Here is Scriptural proof:
"For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them" (Acts 20:29-30).
"HOLD FAST THE FORM OF SOUND WORDS, which you have heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. That good thing, which was committed unto you keep by the Holy Spirit which dwells in us. This you know, that ALL THEY WHICH ARE IN ASIA BE TURNED AWAY FROM ME…" (II Tim. 1:13-15).
So, even a perfect translation would not keep carnal men from turning from the Truth.
I have a number of translations. Not because they are all necessary to know the Truths of God, but because now I am a teacher and they are helpful in teaching.
Spend more time "praying and obeying" than looking for that perfect translation and you will make faster progress in your Spiritual walk with God.

Thank you Joe,
You explained Ray's role as a teacher very well. That has helped me also.
