Prayer request for my daughter
Robin:
Has she tried the medication they mention Paula?
I went through this with my 13 year old grandson this month. He was not coping with his migraines and became suicidal. He would not get up out of bed or leave his room. I know what it's like to be helpless to help. We took him in and started Prozac and that helped him cope better again.
I cried out to God on his behalf since he doesn't know yet how to cry out himself. I don't know if that was right, but it's all I have. This is what taught me to once again say thy will be done, thy will be done, thy will be done. It also showed me that we have a mediator who cares as much for us.
I will continue to pray for your daughter.
Robin:
Here is a message forum that may help your daughter cope. Sometimes just knowing you're not alone helps so much.

Here is the main site.

Deborah-Leigh:
Helplessness is part of the process of leaning into Christ to find out and experience that He is our self sufficiency....but why does it have to be so painful (Rhetorical question...we know why...the contrast is great and the purification of our faith as gold is tried in a furnace.)
I think those websites for your daughter could be most helpful that MG gave to you Paula.
You are in my thoughts and I feel for you and your family....I too feel quite useless and helpless so my words to you come straight back to me.............for my own edification!
Peace to you
Arcturus :)
PKnowler:
Thank you M.G. and Arcturus and everyone else who is praying.
Your prayers and concern means a lot!
M.G. I have already checked into that website. It's a great site with a lot of info.
I signed up myself so I could read the messages and learn something that might help.
I was encouraged by the post. I have given the website to my daughter and she is
afraid to join. She said she doesn't want to read horror stories of people having their
bladder removed and all the medications people have to take.
It's true, to function people with IC have to take alot of meds and then have a back
up of strong narcotics on top of all the other drugs they take for when a flare up happens.
She can't take the medication they recommend while she is pregnant and she quit taking
the antidepressants when she got pregnant. The best way to control this disease while she is
pregnant and otherwise is through diet. They give her a list of things she can't eat that
causes the flair ups. Mainly the diet restricts acid producing foods, which is a lot of foods.
I went to see her yesterday and she hadn't eaten all day- (that's her way of being on the diet)
and she had taken 6 Tylenol with codeine. She looked drugged. I got so mad! I told her
she has to take care of this baby and eat and not take so many pain meds. She said it kept
hurting so she took more and more. I know that she normally wouldn't be like this, she would
care for her baby but this pain has her crazy!
M.G. I'm sorry to hear about your grandson. I pray he can find some relief for his migraines.
It is so hard to know that people are in suffering and in pain.
But we have the blessed hope:
Romans 8:18
I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be
revealed in us.
Yes Arcturus, we need to be helpless and lean on Christ. It is all a process of dying to ourself
Gal 2:20
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.
M.G. while I ask for relief for my daughters pain & suffering I say with you- Thy Will Be Done.
God give us grace and mercy to go through what you have for us to go through and
thank you that you do. Amen!
Blessings, Paula :)
