Work vs Prison

Just in case you ever get these two environments mixed up, this should make things a little bit clearer...

@ PRISON you spend the majority of your time in a 10X10 cell
@ WORK you spend the majority of your time in an 8X8 cubicle

@ PRISON you get three meals a day fully paid for
@ WORK you get a break for one meal and you have to pay for it

@ PRISON you get time off for good behavior
@ WORK you get more work for good behavior

@ PRISON the guard locks and unlocks all the doors for you
@ WORK you must often carry a security card and open all the doors for yourself and God forbid you loose it.

@ PRISON you can watch TV and play games
@ WORK you could get fired for watching TV and playing games

@ PRISON you get your own toilet
@ WORK you have to share the toilet with some people who pee on the seat

@ PRISON they allow your family and friends to visit
@ WORK you aren't even supposed to speak to your family

@ PRISON all expenses are paid by the taxpayers with no work required
@ WORK you get to pay all your expenses to go to work, and they deduct taxes from your salary to pay for prisoners

@ PRISON you spend most of your life inside bars wanting to get out
@ WORK you spend most of your time wanting to get out and go inside bars

@ PRISON you must deal with sadistic wardens
@ WORK they are called managers

THERE IS SOMETHING SERIOUSLY WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE!!!!

Now get back to work

  To All,

That sounds like prison is better than work LOL, but I'll just keep it an hypothetical situation.  YOu forgot one thing, at work you get paid and that's what makes it worth it in the long run.

I see the humor, but I'll comment nonethe less

@ PRISON you spend the majority of your time in a 10X10 cell
@ WORK you spend the majority of your time in an 8X8 cubicle
COMMENT: True

@ PRISON you get three meals a day fully paid for
@ WORK you get a break for one meal and you have to pay for it
COMMENT: True

@ PRISON you get time off for good behavior
COMMENT: Not with the sentencing guidline changes which say you serve 80% of your time.
@ WORK you get more work for good behavior
COMMENT: Or a pink slip if you ask for a raise.

@ PRISON the guard locks and unlocks all the doors for you
@ WORK you must often carry a security card and open all the doors for yourself and God forbid you loose it.

@ PRISON you can watch TV and play games
COMMENT: In many maximum lock ups, inmates spend 23 HOURS in their cells only time out is for showers.
@ WORK you could get fired for watching TV and playing games
COMMENT: Unless you're in an insulated spot of "middle management"

@ PRISON you get your own toilet
@ WORK you have to share the toilet with some people who pee on the seat
COMMENT: That's actually in reverse.

@ PRISON they allow your family and friends to visit
COMMENT: Some inmates have no family or friends visit them in prison

@ WORK you aren't even supposed to speak to your family
COMMENT: See "middle managment" above.

@ PRISON all expenses are paid by the taxpayers with no work required
COMMENT: False, inmates DO have the requirement to work, often they make brooms, learn trades in the machine shop so they'd be productive taxpayers when they get out.
@ WORK you get to pay all your expenses to go to work, and they deduct taxes from your salary to pay for prisoners

@ PRISON you spend most of your life inside bars wanting to get out
@ WORK you spend most of your time wanting to get out and go inside bars
COMMENT: It should have been added that Prison: you waste away behind bars.
Work: you get wasted in bars.

@ PRISON you must deal with sadistic wardens
COMMENT: And paranoid fellow inmates to say the least.
@ WORK they are called managers
COMMENT: Just below the managers are parasitic co-workers in waiting.

THERE IS SOMETHING SERIOUSLY WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE!!!!
COMMENT: Yep, that's why I see the humor in this ;D

Now get back to work
COMMENT: WHY?!! ;) ;)

I laughed especially to that point. Very clever! =D

We discussed this topic about a month ago in philosophy class. It is a researched fact that tough law and long sentences does not reduce crime. And what if death sentences are carried out and later the guy who was put to death is found innocent? And why to kill people if it doesn't really have an effect on crime? Well, they probably use it in China, because killing criminals is a good way to control the population growth...

By the way, there are some poor people ( = bums) here in Finnland, who commit crimes before winter, so they will get away from the cold streets for winter.
