talking to my father
ciy:
Why not teach UR to people? I do not believe that UR is necessarily the meat that Paul was talking about. I believe it the deeper mystery of Christ in you. If you are one in God who are you? You all need to meditate on these truths. The bible is written personally to you. It is about you and it wants to convince you who you are. Read John 17:20-26 and put your name in it. Read Phillippians 2:5-11 and put your name in it. Do you have the mind of Christ? We need to "glorify God, which had given such power unto men."
People seem to think if you tell some secular christian the truth of UR then he will live like he wants to because he is not afraid of hell for an eternity. Well the church says you can say an 11 second prayer and live however you want to and go to heaven. Unless the people know the truth of UR they will never be set free. You scatter the seed on all soils and let God do the rest. Speak it. If you do not tell them who will. That carnal spirit loves keeping all of you shut up and won't speak to others. He has you just limiting your talks to these forums. He has you shut up in here just as if you were shut up in a church building. A mutual admiration society. Quit worrying about what people think.
Joh 12:42 ΒΆ Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue:
43 For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.
Joh 5:44 How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only?
We have lost the ability to truly believe. We must get it back.
The truth makes all free.
Let the Word be true and every man a liar.

Michael A.:
Regarding Jesus' command to ask, it is interesting that the scripture also tells us that no man can recieve anything unless it is given him from heaven.
Also from personal experience, I note that people who ask are generally ready to receive, when they ask.
I have found that intercessory prayer is effective when dealing with people who aren't ready to receive. So instead of trying to give them information they aren't ready for, yet, I pray for them. Usually, soon after they "ask." Not always, but most often. Now of those who ask, with them I get a fair hearing.
Remember, our goal is not to give people all the answers, but to point them to the One who IS the answer, and encourage them to develop a personal relationship with God. That is what God wants, a personal relationship with each of us, not a few "know it alls" taking the place of Jesus Christ. There are enough of them leading people away from Jesus already, in the Babylonian captivity.
Our goal is to please our Father, and love all with a pure love, from a purified heart, and with a clean conscience.

1Ti 4:10 For to this end we labor and strive, because we have our hope set on the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of them that believe.
1Ti 4:11 These things command and teach.
I personally am reserved on who I tell, not ready yet, from a spiritual growth standpoint, but; we are to command and teach it.
Phazel:
I have to pray that God leads me correctly. I found myself gloating when silencing someone who couldn't refute a point and got upset.
I apologized to this person and repented of my pride. It doesn't matter how right I am if I am not in the spirit of Love.

the way I understand it is that UR is a "first principle of the doctrine of Christ"
Heb6
1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,
2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. (KJV)
1 Wherefore, leaving the word dealing with the rudiments of Christ, we should be brought on to maturity, (not again disrupting the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith on God,
2 of the teaching of baptizings, besides the imposition of hands, and the resurrection of the dead, and of judgment eonian). (Concordant)
I understand the meat to be "Christ in us"...continually crucifying thyself so that others may live, ie living out the love of God (which He has shown us) towards the world so that everyone eventually might have the same experience as we have
am i getting this right or not?
