Psa 76:10

[rj]

Psa 76:10  Surely the wrath of man shall praise thee: the remainder of wrath shalt thou restrain.

Is this scripture saying all the wrath that's inside man, God restrains unless, in this age or the ages to come, it will bring Him praise?

Hi rj,

I will bring up some different Bible translations, that might help you

Psa 76:10  Surely the wrath of man shall praise You; With the remainder of wrath You shall gird Yourself. (NKJV)

Psa 76:10  Surely the wrath of men shall praise Thee; the residue of wrath Thou wilt gird upon Thee. (rsv)

Psa 76:10  Human wrath serves only to praise You, when You bind the last bit of Your wrath around You. (nrs)

Psa 76:10  For the wrath of man thank You; You encircle Yourself with the wrath left over. (LITV)

Psa 76:10 For the fury of humanity, it is acclaiming You; The remainder of the fury shall celebrate to You." (CLV)

Psa 76:10  Human opposition only enhances Your glory, for You use it as a sword of judgment. (NLT)

Psa 76:10 For the multitude of mankind shall give thanks unto Thee, The remainder of the multitude, shall keep holy festival unto Thee. (Rotherham)

If you look at the context from which this verse came, this is the time when God is judging the earth.

Psa 76:8  From the heavens You uttered judgment; the earth feared and was still
v. 9  when God rose up to establish judgment, to save all the oppressed of the earth. (Selah)
v. 10  Human wrath serves only to praise You, when You bind the last bit of Your wrath around You.
v. 11  Make vows to the Lord your God, and perform them; let all who are around Him bring gifts to the One who is awesome,
v. 12  who cuts off the spirit of princes, who inspires fear in the kings of the earth. (nrs)

mercy, peace, and love
