That's a good question.  I don't think we can ever really know for sure if we are one of the elect.  Because the scripture clearly tells us that we must endure to the end.  Paul says, not that I have already attained.  But the Lord says, my sheep hear my voice.  So there is some proof that one can know, and there is also proof that one does'nt know.  Only God knows.

I don't worry too much about it one way or another. Either way it is a win-win situation.  Who wouldn't want to be in the Elect, but since we can't really know, I am just glad that either way I end up with Him.  Remember the LOF is also a "haven of purification" (I love that translation-someone here called it that). And if that is what the Lord has chosen for me then I must need it.
