A little family info regarding teachers; my dads Math teacher in Junior High (mid/late 40's) also had the privilege of teaching my oldest brother (mid/late 60's) and myself (early 70's).
Saved the meanest for last. However, at that time my dad was on the "School Board" and I did not get away with anything.....well, except for this one time that I know nothing about so you guys don't say anything. ;D
College is "another story." ::)
My English/Technical Writing instructor was a "Gunny" (Gunnery Sergent) that decided to go teach college English. :o
All of the new students were warned about Mr. Fuller, and told to avoid his class. Well, guess what? Yep, Mr. Fuller's class here I come. It was either go to his class or wait until the next semester.
That man was very strict; and he did not give you a break on anything. I will never forget him. After that 1st semester, I picked all of his classes that were related to my major.
I just wish I could remember everything he taught me. :-[
Sorry for getting way off topic, Craig. :)
gmik:
Great story Patrick.
Teachers don't get to know if their "product" works. Only if we get a chance to hear something years later. I hope your gunny knew how he helped you.
