Why is the Millenium necessary ?

(1/3) > >>

mrsnacks:
Yes. More new threads I started . Keep everyone on their spiritual toes ( smile).

I am not so sure on this Millenium . My understanding is that the Kingdom of God is within you. So why is it that Jesus has to come to earth and set up His Kingdom here for 1000 years ? When Jesus came and walked among us- the people thought He was going to overthrow the Romans and set up His Kingdom. But He said His Kingdom was not visible. It is a Kingdom that exists inside of you. Not one that is physical. What would be the purpose of setting up an earthly Kingdom ? He could've done that when He visited the earth the first time.

rocky:
He must reign, till he defeats all enemies.  The last enemy to be defeated is death.

For me, the reign of Christ is the 1000 year reign.  I don't see this as a fleshly, physical reign.

mrsnacks:
So when will this reign begin ?

rocky:
Starts with the first fruits harvest, imo.

but most would say it is after the return of Christ, after the first resurrection.

 ¶ And you [hath he quickened], who were dead in trespasses and sins;

last enemy to be destroyed is death

Eph 2:2  Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

Eph 2:3  Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

Eph 2:4  But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,

Eph 2:5  Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

Good question.  Hopefully we will get more insight.  Good points rocky.

Sometimes the whys and what if questions will drive ya bonkers. Ray said it was all bizarre.

Maybe that is where faith comes in.
