A short verse against free will.

mrl1970:
Proverbs 16:9 A man's heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.

It looks like the heart determines the choices we make but the Lord chooses the path we take to make those choices.

We also know that God can harden or soften hearts as he chooses as well.

Hi mrl1970 ~

I was just thinking of this last nite.  Thinking that I hope God is not hardening my heart.  You see, a bit of a soft heart was I......These days, I find myself less and less tolerant of, oh let's say evil.  Really, wanting NOTHING to do with it, in any shape or form!  I am soooo looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth when God shall wipe away all tears.

In His Grace,
Lisa

Deborah-Leigh:

It will be wonderful to finally know that all the pain was worth it and no tear was shed in vain.

Ps 56 : 8 You number and record my wanderings; put my tears into Your bottle - are they not in Your Book?

Ps 126 : 5 They that sow in tears shall reap in joy and singing.

When the Truth comes we will be set free. Reason enough to anticipate with all eagerness, the return of Christ!

Peace be to you

Arcturus :)

If you are less tolerant of evil then God is not hardening your heart as long as you still love the sinner. This is God working in you to fulfil His purpose.

I totally agree! As long as you love the sinner, (we're all sinners don't forget that.) then how is your heart hardened? You can hate things, you can hate evil, you can hate my wife's lasagna. As long as you love people (people = sinners. period) then you're heart is not hardened.

EVERYTHING in you is God working in you to fulfill His purpose. Nothing happens without the hand of God bringing it about.
