I wanted to see what atheists think aion means. I thought they would be unbiased, but apparently even the unbelievers believe Jesus will torment mankind forever! Maybe that's why they are unbelievers?...

I was just joking. I meant, they believe the Scriptures teach God will torment mankind forever.

Well, as long as the athiest have to encounter the churches and the internet copy and paste spammer crowd trying to get them to "Turn or Burn" it will be very hard to get them to agree, especially when that agreement causes no real change in thier philosophy.
Even if they are convinced that the scriptures cause no eternal torment, your still faced with them being offended by our love for a God that willfully and knowingly subjects his creation to evil. And without a doubt, we know thats true.
Our belief that God will make it right means nothing to them because they do not believe and we cannot prove that we are correct in reality no matter how many scriptures we use.
I am in no way trying to discourage your conversations as the truth will make them think and possibly, question. I have an athiest friend that occasionally poses questions about our existance and I try to do my best to just be honest.
In reality, even tho I would be argued with, I do not believe in athiests.
If God wrote his laws on our hearts in the new covenant, then they have to have that in thier heart as well. I just think that they reject religious doctrine, no matter who is speaking of it.
Anyone feel free to correct me if I am wrong in that according to scripture.

I think their goal is to show that God is cruel so why should we believe in a god like that? So if you start showing God to be the beauty that he is, it threatens that angle. The enemy is swift to steal seed.
