My Dear Watson
hillsbororiver:
Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson goes on a camping trip. After a good dinner and a bottle of wine, they retire for the night, and go to sleep. Some hours later, Holmes wakes up and nudges his faithful friend.
‘Watson, look up at the sky and tell me what you see.”
I see millions and millions of stars, Holmes,” replies Watson.
“And what do you deduce from that?”
Watson ponders for a minute.
“Well, astronomically, it tells me that there are millions of galaxies and potentially billions of planets.
Astrologically, I observe that Saturn is in Leo. Horologically, I deduce that the time is approximately a quarter past three.
“Meteorologically, I suspect that we will have a beautiful day tomorrow.
Theologically, I can see that God is all powerful and that we are a small and insignificant part of the universe.
What does it tell you, Holmes?”
Holmes is silent for a moment. ‘Watson, you idiot!” he says. “Someone has stolen our tent!”

Joe, I've read several different versions of this joke.
The last one I read (before this one) was about the
Lone Ranger and Tonto. They of course all end the
same. Thanks for sharing!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Hi Iris,
The Lone Ranger was one of my very favorite TV shows as a kid! You know this joke would have been even funnier if I had heard it featuring them, especially if Tonto was speaking Watson's part with an English accent! :D
That reminds me of a Sanford & Son (another old favorite) episode when Lamont joins a neighborhood acting troupe and brings Fred along to watch them rehearse. Fred gets the Director so upset with his constant suggestions and comments that he quits and tells Fred to go ahead and direct it himself, Fred does not miss a beat grabbing the guy's beret, megaphone and seating himself in the Director's chair barking orders.
To make a long story short Fred decides to give the play a bit more class by directing Lamont to speak with an English accent, it is a play about a contemporary love story set in the inner city and hearing the accent was so ridiculous that no one in the cast could keep a straight face!
I almost fell off my chair laughing, of course the only one not smiling was Lamont. ;)
Joe
