DuluthGA:
No, I didn't watch it but saw the History Channel's show on 'Hell' a few months ago then emailed and asked them of all the different opinions they presented on hell, why didn't they include URist views?  I was surprised to get a response, here it is:

Thank you for your interest in The History Channel program HELL: THE
> DEVIL'S DOMAIN.  A purpose in presenting programs about religion is to
> explore what is known to be historical fact as opposed to--or in agreement
> with--what is believed by the faithful.
>
> The producers with whom we work on religion-based programs select
> historians and interviewees who are educated in a variety of religious
> disciplines. Like any scholar, each has his or her point of view; all,
> however, possess credentials from recognized universities and theological
> institutions.  Viewers often agree or disagree with a particular
> interviewee, and with the point of view of a particular producer.  We
> encourage the healthy and respectful exchange of opinions on matters of
> faith, and appreciate your feedback on our programs.

> Please provide us with precise examples of factual errors you believe are

Those in the church seem to be putting their trust in NDE's (the stories of men/hell), rather than the Lord!
Perhaps, their experience was a near miss (close but no cigar) - because "the dead know not anything" (Ec. 9:5)

I can personally testify to "You know nothing", as I once lost most all of the blood in my body, to the point of death.
