This one gave me the thought that too bad the people we try to share the truth with aren't more like dogs eh?  LOL

I enjoyed these sayings, thanks!

I guess our pets trust us to always tell the truth and people would rather believe a lie. what I have encountered is that most really do want some to be eternally punished as if they deserve it. I believed that way for a long time until God opened my eyes. But I have said before that knowing the truth is sometimes a lonely road and sharing the truth will often lead to ridicule. my father-in-law recently accused me of being in a cult and he did not like me dragging his daughter down to hell with me. oh, what a tangled web some weave..................rick

Ran across this quote:

"...if you believe in it, it is a religion or perhaps 'the' religion;
and if you do not care one way or another about it, it is a sect;
but if you fear and hate it, it is a cult." Leo Pfeffer.

and...

"A cult is a church down the street from your church." Anonymous

and finally, from Webster's

CULT
Pronunciation: 'k&lt
Function: noun
Usage: often attributive
Etymology: French & Latin; French culte, from Latin cultus care, adoration, from colere to cultivate -- more at WHEEL
1 : formal religious veneration : WORSHIP
2 : a system of religious beliefs and ritual; also : its body of adherents
3 : a religion regarded as unorthodox or spurious; also : its body of adherents
4 : a system for the cure of disease based on dogma set forth by its promulgator <health cults>
5 a : great devotion to a person, idea, object, movement, or work (as a film or book); especially : such devotion regarded as a literary or intellectual fad b : the object of such devotion c : a usually small group of people characterized by such devotion

I don't know, I can see myself belonging to a cult if its JESUS that is worshiped and given great devotion and you have to admit, we are a "small group of people characterized by such devotion"  *wink*

I always thought of cults as "brain-washers" but even when you think about it, I guess by God's grace we have had and are having our brains washed, are we not?  Just a thought...   ;D
