I have just recently been approved for membership to this forum and it is with much thanksgiving to God that I say to all of you, “Hello, my brothers and sisters in Christ!!! “ I am so happy and relieved to be here and to have the opportunity to fellowship with you!!! This forum is a cool refreshing drink of Living Water and I am overjoyed to partake of it! For my background information, you can save me some typing time by reading an email Ray posted on
www.bibletruths.com entitled “Released from a Dark Prison.” I was brought to
www.bibletruths.com in August 2004 and I have since been a regular student of God’s Word through the teachings there. I am a single mom to a 12 year old daughter. I have worked full-time as a legal secretary for 23 years so far and I currently work for a decent group of people (by the world’s standard, that is). I bought my first home 2-1/2 years ago and my daughter and I share it with two dogs and two cats. All in all, I pretty much have my hands full. Oh I was born and raised in New York City and I moved away from my family to Houston, Texas in 1978, where I still live. I am very much looking forward to participating in this forum and I look forward to getting to know each and everyone of you. Last night, In anticipation of my first post to this forum, I typed the following.
I would like to share with you one of my most favorite Scriptures:
For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, of whom the whole family in the heavens and on earth is named, that He may give to you, according to the riches of His glory, with might to be strengthened through His Spirit, in regard to the inner man, that the Christ may dwell through the faith in your hearts, in love having been rooted and founded, that ye may be in strength to comprehend, with all the saints, what [is] the breadth, and length, and depth, and height, to know also the love of the Christ that is exceeding the knowledge, that ye may be filled -- to all the fullness of God; and to Him who is able above all things to do exceeding abundantly what we ask or think, according to the power that is working in us, to Him [is] the glory in the assembly in Christ Jesus, to all the generations of the age of the ages. Amen. Ephesians 3:14-21In December 1986, after a 13-month reading and self-study of the entire Bible, immediately after reading Revelation 22:21, I prostrated myself on my living room floor and said out loud, “My Lord and My King!” I felt at that moment that Jesus was standing right in front of me, in all of His Glory, Power, and Authority as my Savior, my Lord, and my King. It was such a profound personal experience for me to recognize and acknowledge who Jesus Christ is, t.h.e. most profound thing that had ever happened to me in my then 27 years of earthly life. I was not surprised by that physical act of submission and it did not confuse me to do it, although I had never done anything like that in my life. I understood without question that it was the only thing for me to do. Now I look back and I see that it was the defining moment of God’s call on my life. Nothing has since been the same for me, and although the journey has often been tortuous and confusing and sometimes filled with terror from all sides, truly this Scripture reflects the end result of all of my trials thus far:
Grace to you, and peace be multiplied in the acknowledgement of God and of Jesus our Lord! 2 Peter 1:2.
It gives me such joy to speak these words to you because I know that you don’t see Him as a baby in a manger or a dying savior on a cross. I know that none of you are thinking, “Yes, but which church do you belong to? Do you tithe? Have you recited the sinner’s prayer? Have you received the gift of tongues? Have you been baptized? Did you watch T.B.N. last night?” I have approached the edge of madness having to contend with pagan beliefs. Truly the day I found
www.bibletruths.com began the wrestling away from all of that madness and the untangling from the webs of false teachings, not just in spiritual matters but also in my daily exposure to carnal wisdom via my personal and workplace relationships, television, the internet, the grocery store, etc. Sometimes I am very surprised to recognize how deep carnality still runs in me, but I am grateful for
www.bibletruths.com because God continues to use Ray Smith’s teachings of His Truth to bring me out of the world’s darkness and into His Glorious Light.
God bless you all!
