hello from Ireland
« on: September 01, 2007, 10:47:51 PM »

Hi everybody! I am quite excited!! My name is Marie Mc Neill, i live in Ireland, i have a partner Tom Curry and a son, Peter Curry. Tommy and me have booked our date to wed for the 4th time in 10 yrs!!! Oooo! i know, sounds bad but his time we ask that we be married legally in the eyes of the Irish State and accept that our Father in Heaven can see our wedding according to our local customs, no more...
Me and Tommy believe the bible IS the revealed WORD of GOD to people for our entire lives, both of us us 'became' born again Christians years ago, me in 1991, Tommy i'll let tell his own story! i was in a church called the Apostolic Church then, i had heard a message about the saviour of the world Jesus coming to take our sins upon his self and take away my sin and the sin of the world that we might be FREE!!! from sin and death. now i read me bible and was puzzled by why the bible said tongues should be used in such a way and we did someting else in the church. Why we accepted a three part God when it was not so clear whetherit was or wasn't, there was stuff i was confused about, well controversy fell upon the leadership of the church  came i fell away and was lost.
I wandered about and met a fella who also wanted to know God at one time but fell away as i did, we lived together, we had a son, we had a disastrous jinxed very difficult life, i became very depressed.  We lways talked about God, what should we do, how should we seek after him now....
WE went to born again churches the type we were brought into away the catholic church in the beginning.  It was good, but there were always questions... questions
We tried to set a date in 2001 to get married but tommy's father passed away and the date passed and so on and so on.....
Well as we say here in ireland we were under the blink for 10 yrs, until this year, after years of weeping, and pleading for help and wondering what to do, and how to do it, and wondering about the scripture and being so confused, i recieved a regular letter from Karen Peavey and a link to the RCG was beside it, i read some of the articles and was astonished, i thought about some of what i read and was beside myself, i began praying in a new way, first ting, being very specific about what i wanted to praise about and what i thought was needed by my family and those i prayed for.  But more than that that i relaxed and renounced tongues that i read in the bible as for a specific purpose and saw and did use in a totally different way.  LIfe Changed immediately!!!! You ahve no idea, the blink was ifted, i was on fire, i spoke w Tommy and we investigated te scriptures and came back and forth with our queries.  Help came from above in a massive torrent that we had never seen before!!!  From the BLINK, everything that can going wrong, and i mean it for 10 years, wre are talking poverty, destitution, serious illness, my father dying suddenly and us being accused of 'helping' him along, fraud, etc., etc., we came to tremendous blessing!!!!! almost ev thing going right for thefirst time in 10 yrs!!!!

I felt uncomfortable about people folowing, it was the scriptures i wanted, not running after a man alone when i couldn'tn easily snatch up the thread of his thought from the Word, lifeturned around when i found the rcg site but i felt uncomfortable about getting caught up in a strict church as we had been fooled before, i prayed and prayed as never before, sought the word and looked and listened and found the LRaySmith site and thought , its not just us, we felt tlike heretics and eejits for our questions, we REALLY want to do the right thing, we have failed we have a 9 yr old son, we have been sinners over and over, so weak... but we have seen the LORD grab hold of us this last month and change our lives as never before, i am sorry for going on so. but i do not have time to tell you how our lives have been changed..

We want to know the right thing to do and we will do it, we search the scriptires on what we learn to accept or reject somethiong, we know we are only human, but we Tommy and i and our son who also we are blessed with who wants to know God, we want to know hat to do so we vcan do it.

That's basically it

sorry for the long article

thanks for listening

Welcome, Marie

Great testimony!  I am a newbie, too, and your testimony isn't too different from mine.   I started out in the Catholic church also and have been to several churches the past 23 years, but always something didn't sit right with me.  I find Ray's teachings refreshing, and they have answered a lot of my questions. I hope your's will be  answered, too!

God bless you and your family!

Wow Marie that is quite a testimony! I am so glad you came to our forum and to Ray's site. Thank you for sharing w/ us some of your trials and tribulations. How wonderful to see God is working in your life now.

We have a few from across the pond on our forum! I live in Michigan.USA.  My relatives all believe us to be Irish but I don't think anyone knows for sure. We have been here since the 1700's.  I have been to Ireland and LOVED it. Anyway didn't mean to get going on that.

You poured your heart out to us and it will not fall on deaf ears.  You will be prayed for.  God Bless and keep in touch w/ us.

Hello Marie

Without the struggle, we would not appreciate the flight that follows upon the wings of His Spirit. Like a butterfly we all have to struggle to get out of that coocoon of lies and bondage before we break out of the darkness into His Love, Light and Truth. I believe  that our Lord makes it so that we can all realate to each others pains, difficulties and frustrations so we may acknowledge His call to encourage one another to press on to that Heavenly reward of Christ Jesus.

Welcome to the Forum

Arcturus :)

PS I too have a little bit of Irish blood in me from my Mothers side. Mc Adam....

HELLO AND WELCOME MARIE!

Ah, I found you!  Glad you posted a welcome note, and it's so good to 'see' ya again!  I am happy you are here!  :):D

I've been bustling about all day and in a few hours I'll have time to go over your 'Hello from Ireland' post and then I intend on whipping up a PM (personal message) to you later this night when I'll have some time to "collect myself."  Ha!  You know how it goes.  So be watching the My Messages area on top of your board that will indicate when you have 1 or more messages.

People always tell me I look Irish of all things!  And... my middle name is Marie, ha!  I'm so glad to hear you have some good support!!

So glad you joined in the fun!  :)
With joy,
Janice
