« on: September 19, 2007, 01:46:32 AM »

Would anyone be able to explain pauls words here?
Romans 3:7 is Paul calling himself a liar?
Does Ray say anything about this scripture that I missed?
Thanks in advance.

Hi JacieLeigh,  :)

Here is the paraphrased The Message which should shed some light and answer your question...

Romans 3: 7-8   It's simply perverse to say, "If my lies serve to show off God's truth all the more gloriously, why blame me?  I'm doing God a favor."  Some people are actually trying to put such words in our mouths, claiming that we go around saying, "The more evil we do, the more good God does, so let's just do it!"  That's pure slander, as I'm sure you'll agree.

God bless you.

Thanks for your reply, maybe it is because is late but I am not sure I understand.
Is Paul saying it would be wrong to lie to show the truth of God's word?
I enjoy Pauls writtings very much but a friend pointed out this scripture and believes Paul is a self proclaimed liar.
I may not reply to this thread again, but just read and try to understand more clearly.
So if I don't answer I will be reading and studing what you and others say. :)

Hi JacieLeigh,

Yes, Paul is saying it would be wrong to lie to show the truth of God's word.

Nite nite honey, get good rest with love in God.
