The NEW pledge of Allegiance
« on: October 21, 2007, 09:23:16 PM »

This was written by a 15 year old kid.

New Pledge of Allegiance (Totally Awesome)!

Since the Pledge of Allegiance and The Lord's Prayer are not allowed in most public schools anymore because the word "God" is mentioned...a kid in Arizona wrote the following:

New School Prayer

Now I sit me down in school
Where Praying is against the rule
& nbsp; For this great nation under God
Finds mention of Him very odd.

If Scripture now the class recites,
It violates the Bill of Rights.
And anytime my head I bow
&nbs p; Becomes a Federal matter now.

Our hair can be purple, orange or green,
That's no offense; it's a freedom scene.
The law is specific, the law is precise.
Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.

&n bsp; For praying in a public hall
Might offend someone with no faith at all.
In silence alone we must meditate,
God's name is prohibited by the state.

We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,
And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks.
The y've outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible
To quote the Good Book makes me liable.

We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,
And the 'unwed daddy,' our Senior King.
It's "inappropriate" to teach right from wrong,
We're taught that such "judgments" do not belong.

We can get our condoms and birth controls,
Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles,
But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,
No word of God must reach this crowd.

It's scary here I must confess,
When chaos reigns the school's a mess.
So, Lord, this silent plea I make:
Should I be shot; My soul please take!
Amen

God bless,

Alex

Yes Alex this is another sad commentary on life in the USA. And the ending somes it all.

Becuase of the times each successive generation become more self centered and as a result have a lot more pressures on them.

It is good to know that God is in control and I am glad that at least this child knows it too

Alex

I live in Northern Arizona, and last week while doing some electrical work at two of the three High Schools,
over the loud speaker came a young girls voice who was reciting the original "Pledge of Allegiance."
These were two different young ladies, one at each school.

Although prayer was removed in approximately 1963 and the Ten Commandments in 1981,
you are correct to state that God is being removed as well, but mostly that of "Jesus Christ."

Well, the pledge is still recited at my school and every school that I know of down here.  As far as prayer, it doesn't bother me that the sisters of babylon can't hold daily sermons in our schools.  Let's remember what it is that these people believe.  I for one, still feel that these things should be left up to the individual.

My kids attend Department of Defense Scools here in Japan.  They do not have to recite the pledge here, but they all must stand out of respect while others do.  We even stand for the National Anthem here before the show starts at all the Military Movie Theaters.  I have become so institutionalized and used to the way things are done in the Marines.  It scares me to think about what it will be like when I get out soon.  ???

We are encouraged to say the Pledge each morning.  I am hit/or miss due to time & forgetfulness.

I agree w/ Jer......God is OK usually, but NEVER the name of Jesus except historically.

Also, my school district has "Bible Release" at 1:30 once a month.  Children are bused to a neighboring church for 1 hour.

Do they have an option for scripture release so that they might learn some truth?
