A Poem from 4/23/04
« on: October 29, 2007, 04:04:46 PM »

This is something I wrote a few years ago.

-In My Mind-

Drudging through a vast, abhorring way of life.
The settlement of which I stand only causes strife.
I look upon your effervescent smile, and wonder why.
For all you did is dead and gone and you give no reply.
A crack still waits below the floor just like every gaze.
You stay for one more moment still to set my heart ablaze.
In all that holds so true in here, when did fate corrode?
No more.....no more.....can I lift this heavy load.
Bring me back from disbelief I beg you one last time.
Give me one more reason why my heart stops on a dime.
Tell me one more day that you will never pleasure death.
Still I watch you smile at me with my last dying breath.
My eyes are dim from suffering, my head is caving in.
My teeth are shattered, cold is coming from the blowing winds.
The blood I saw before was dripping down has now turned dark.
But it was I who made the deal and sewn on my own mark.
Then a light shines down on me from somewhere I held dear.
I remember why I felt that He was drawing near.
All my worries cease......all my cares become minute.
The sound I hear comes from above and falls beneath my boot.
When I noticed what occurred, I realized what I've done.
I brought these thoughts to life in here instead of through the Son.
