That is so true Joe!
I was just discussing this with someone who, at least until now, believed strongly in being saved by water baptism. When I pointed out to her that Jesus baptizes with holy spirit and fire she was astonished! She had heard all her life that submersion in water was the real thing. We MUST be baptized... with fire!

I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance. but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:

(unto salvation)

Janice, perhaps not expected, but of course, responses are more than welcome.

The passage was that of Matthew 3:16-17 with a reflection upon chapter 10, verse 16. So often, I see those professing to be sheep, who, are to be wise as serpents and harmless as doves becoming like wolves. Then, I am reminded of John 8:29 where Jesus says, "For I do always those things that PLEASE HIM."

1 Peter 1:12 definitely touches on this, as Joe pointed out (thank you): "Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Spirit sent down from heaven;" Indeed, there are not many apostles, prophets, ...
and teachers.
