And then what?..............
« on: November 02, 2007, 01:35:55 PM »

Hey everyone,

One thing that has always caught my imagination is our purpose after all is said and done. I hope people here find this as interesting as I do, cause I would love to hear where peoples imaginations have taken them and what they believe the scriptures say about it. So our God is now all in all and His plan has culminated and pain and sufferring and crying and sorrow and death, etc are all things of the past. Then what? will the physical universe still exist? Can I visit other constellations and glaxies and see what beautiful other worlds God has created. Visit a dual star solar system? Orions belt? See the workings of a black hole? Or will it be something beyond comprehension. A much better universe. A spritual universe. Will there be more creating to do? I want to hear some opinions even if they include unicorns and fairies.

Romans 8:18
For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

Have you ever seen the movie "KPax"?  I think that it is an appealing idea of what we could be doing.
Romans 8 talks about the whole creation groaning in anticipation for the manifestation of the sons of God.  I know this is talking about within, and we cannot imagine what God has in store but if I think to the far reaches of my mind this is a great view of what the next age could be like.  Going to the billions of galaxies setting millions of others free from the bondage of their world.

With the progress of quantum physics and all the dimensions it points too along with time possibly not existing outside of this age, there is no telling how many different directions the next age could take us.  I am looking forward to it with great anticipation because I know that whatever it is it will be God's perfect plan for us.

We CAN'T even imagine!!!!  I think anything we think will be paltry w/ what God can do.  Just think of it.....we CAN"T (not capable of) imagining it......Wow :o

I always think about the verses that say, "You've been faithful over a few things; I will make you ruler over many things."

And I like to think that perhaps we will have our own planet/solar system/galaxy to rule over whatever beings God has put there.

Well I too think that the universe has been created for the purpose that is far grander than what it is now.  It is a incredibly great expanse and in our present human form we are not able to explore it at all.  It has been in only the last 50 years or so that we have been able to learned much about it and have revealed many mysteries.
It is hard for me to comtemplate what God must have in store for us, but it will no doubt be wonderful - fantastic - magnificent and stunning.
I however do not believe there is other 'life' in the universe, when you consider this scripture.

Gen 3:20  And Adam called his wife's name Eve, because she was the mother of all living.

Kat,

You are right with your post.  I do not believe in life on other planets even though my post sounds as I do.  I realize that in my present state I cannot imagine what God has planned for us in the ages to come, so I sometimes think on things I can imagine that would be great in my mind and then realize the truth is that it is going to be better than that.  I should have thought before posting or gone into more detail or better yet not posted at all since this my little way of thinking.

My brain shuts down when trying to think about the vastness of the universe and the possibilities in the ages to come.  It also opens up a door to unscriptural thoughts of SciFi fantasy and the such (I am guilty of this in the past).
I compare this topic to how Ray describes trying to meditate on eternity for more than a few seconds :o  it just wasn't meant to be totally understood by us right now.

Very true ... but what it God were to translate certain people to other star systems--either in the past or in the future--just like he translated Enoch to another earthly location? Many planets could be populated right now, awaiting God's elect to rule over them.

Just a thought ...  :)
