Two Camps
« on: November 09, 2007, 11:02:38 AM »

Greetings everyone, hope all is well.

There have always been the two camps, those that beleive in everlasting torment and those that dont.

before the 3rd century these two camps  worshiped side by side. the teaching  of eternal torment today wasnt the same back then, it has evolved over time.

the 3rd century brought us constaintine whom opened the door to many false teachers into the ""church"

at this time many  great men of God started to be persecuted and their theology questioned, even writings destroyed.

at the 5th counsel, thanks to augustine the teaching of ""eternal torment in hell"" became fixed as official church doctrine. and the persucution of those whom where against that teaching grew even more even to the death of many.

and so babylon  has been alive and well for along time.

babel= confusion by mixing and so we see today in churches and even "hollywood"

egyptian and greek mythology mixed in, and brought in lo those many yrs ago.

God is faithfull and always has his in every generation, those whom long and seek for the TRUTH.

and are willing to forsake all even denomination, family.statis. life itself.

keep the path all and be blessed in Yeshua, Jesus Christ.

Hi chuckt

Yes the early church was filled with hope and love. Because of this many people were drawn to it in the early centuries....

The Nicolatian attitudes and development of clergy and lay was the first incions into the early church, Once you have the know it all and the know nothings...it is easy to introduce your own doctrines.

Rom 2:20  An instructor of the foolish, a teacher of babes, which hast the form of knowledge and of the truth in the law.

2Ti 4:4  And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

Hell culminated as a means of not only of control the people but more importantly the lay rulers and monarch. It was then all about Power and Money just like it is today.

That is why the survival of the Bible through all this seems almost a miracle.

(Rom 15:4 KJVR)  For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope.

The Word of God is a quickening spirit to them that God call.

1Jo 4:6  We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

God's plan will come to pass and it He

1Ti 2:4  Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

Good thoughts.

I was watching the History channel the other nite about Alexander the Great.  This was 333 BC or thereabouts....apparently NONE of the Greeks/Macedons empire believed in an afterlife at all, so they sought glory for the here and now.

Just thought that interesting.  Love historical stuff.
