He who has understanding, speaks
Grateful:
Yes, Arcturus, our TRUE citizenship is NOT of THIS world (dictionary definition : "world" = "were" [ "man", as in "were-wolf", "man-wolf" ] + "old" = "age" , therefore "world" = "man-age" ) but the Heavenly, GOD-sanctioned & sanctified, perpetually!! :D :D ::)
As I see it, "think local, but BE global !" (spiritually, that is)
ENJOYYYY today while it is yet TODAY!! :D ;D
Love,
Linda
gmik:
Joy to the WORLD, the Lord is KING
Let EARTH receive HER KING
HE rules the WORLD Our SAVIOUR Reigns
Paraphrased but I love those words.
I kinda liked Arcs take on physical first then spiritual.
(PS-side bar- watching Lawrence Welk tonite and just thinking about how our culture has changed since then!)

I believe our true citizenship is not of this world. I am not anti USA. I have many fond memories of America it is just that one leader does not make a Nation. Ask Israel or Josiah or Moses. Since Christ came, now is the spiritual not national but that is just how I see it...
Peace be to you all

Very good observation Deborah,
My main point in quoting Lincoln was based upon the following phrase in his declaration:
"to confess their sins and transgressions in humble sorrow, yet with assured hope that genuine repentance will lead to mercy and pardon;"
That phrase more than anything else illustrates an attitude of American society that is no longer apparent.
In most instances recently, politicians ask only for God's BLESSING on America, seldom for correction.

Deborah-Leigh:
I see your point Bob and yes those timeless and precious words will be their own conviction when judgment comes to teach righteousness to all nations and all people eventually. :)
Peace be to you brother
Arcturus :)
