Brilliant, just brilliant!

Edit: And Latin is such a awesome language! This song wouldn't sound as great in another language, in my opinion.
Because, the words/lyrics would be different.

You can view the lyrics in both Latin and English translation here

Hi Sorin,

I love the music of that composition, even though it sounds a little foreboding.
I never knew the words, they fit well with it.

mercy, peace and love

Yea that was great.Sorin......its a really good Christmas song...... ;D

I think Enya had something similiar on one of their tracts...I think they also sang it in Latin.

It is a shame that they use songs like this in the scary satanic movies to increase fear and heigten angst.  It is also sad that even if they understood the language that they would not take in the meaning.

O Fortune,
like the moon
you are changeable,
ever waxing
and waning;
hateful life
first oppresses
and then soothes
as fancy takes it;
poverty
and power
it melts them like ice.

Fate - monstrous
and empty,
you whirling wheel,
you are malevolent,
well-being is vain
and always fades to nothing,
shadowed
and veiled
you plague me too;
now through the game
I bring my bare back
to your villainy.

Fate is against me
in health
and virtue,
driven on
and weighted down,
always enslaved.
So at this hour
without delay
pluck the vibrating strings;
since Fate
strikes down the string man,
everyone weep with me!

Everything in the world is a tease and a waste of time and that in the world there is no hope...mans life even seems to be a waste.

Thid song is sort of like depressed godless verson of Ecclesiates..vanitie oh vanities ....it totally forget about God's plan

 ;D  That is why I thought it made a good Christmas Sing  ;D

OMG... maybe I am not as "out of the loop" as I thought.

When I was reading the lyrics last nite on that mango site, Ecclesiastes came to my mind!

Thanks Beloved! :D

"Ominous rumblings of discontent" with a repeating rhythm.
...dreadful sounding in any language.

I'll take a Saxophone, most commonly associated with popular music,
big bands and jazz - anytime!   ;)

Thanks,

Man blames fate, as a "victim of circumstances," but feels personally responsible when he makes a hole-in-one!

The fickle finger of fate flips fat frogs flat, just a tidbit of my thoughts...   ;D
