The Rose

Here's an awsome song, and i think the lyrics are beautiful and i think we can all relate and even see some truths in these words.

Some say love it is a river
That drowns the tender reed
Some say love it is a razor
That leaves your soul to bleed

Some say love it is a hunger
An endless aching need
I say love it is a flower
And you it's only seed

It's the heart afraid of breaking
That never learns to dance
It's the dream afraid of waking that never takes the chance
It's the one who won't be taken
Who cannot seem to give
And the soul afraid of dying that never learns to live

When the night has been too lonely
And the road has been too long
And you think that love is only
For the lucky and the strong

Just remember in the winter far beneath the bitter snows
Lies the seed
That with the sun's love
In the spring
Becomes the rose

I think the ending of this song is really beautiful and very powerful, and just when you think all hope is gone, just REMEMBER that even IN THE WINTER there is a PROMISE [ A SEED ] for SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL that WILL COME, its only a matter of time.

In your PATIENCE posess ye your souls =]

God bless!

Great lyrics there Alex

Your interpretation of the ending of the song reminds me of what somebody told me once. It was a bit hard to swallow but it makes perfect sense now. We ought to look forward to undergoing the process of chastening and refinement if we truelly want to be God's own. What comes out of the refinery is 'worthier' (lack of a better word at this stage) than what goes in. I used to believe that as long as I've said my 'confession', do the church thing, crucify nonbelievers, etc, I'm a child of God. Now I know that was just the seed. Thanks Alex

Those are indeed great lyrics. Great poetry too. Who is the song by, Alex?

Thank you both for the comments!

I agree kweli, we have to go through the valley to stand upon the mountain of God. He is our strength, our shield, our sword, our salvation, our deliverer, our hope, our everything! He will finish the good works He has begun in us, all we have to do is have alittle patience. It's easier said than done =]

The song is by West life - The rose.

I'm glad you all enjoyed it, its a beautiful song.

Love in Christ,
Alex
