Anyone in california?
Patrick:
I've never been asked for a passport flying "stateside", just a current drivers license.
Alex, I've not heard of anyone driving from the West coast to a conference. There are 3 of us that attended the last Nashville conference from the "West"; 1 CA, 1 OR, 1 AZ.
IMO, there would not be a justifiable cost difference considering 3 travel days each way, lodging to and from, lodging at the conference, and gasoline at today's prices.
For example, IF the conference was the first weekend in Feb, round trip prices for LAX to Mobile are around $520 fees included with 1 stop (thru Orbitz).

Alright than, well i guess ill have to come up with some cash then if no one is driving their.
Thanks for the heads up.

Hey Alex,
You shouldn't have to pay nearly that much for a flight, because it's in Nashville (not Mobile). A flight from LAX to Nashville should be around $300-$350. And I agree that it'd be more convenient (and probably cheaper overall) to fly than to drive. You don't need a passport when flying within the U.S. :)
Matt:
Hey Alex,
I just found out today that I may get stationed in either San Diego or Camp Pendleton this summer and I thought of you.
I will let you know soon what happens.
Matt :)
