Indeed, orthodox Christianity is more about preserving doctrine than truth.  That's why they are in such bondage, "you shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free!"

OK two verses spring to mind here.

2Co 3:18  And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.

OK the principle here is that we a changed into the image of the God we worship and sense Christians worship a cruel and evil god then that is exactly the image that they have been changed into and since they have change God into their own image really they have become more like themselves!, they have become more like man and less like God instead of the other way around!


Luke 6:45  A good man from the good stored up in his heart brings out what is good; and an evil man from the evil stored up brings out what is evil; for from the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks.

OK that one is pretty self explanatory I think.
