Sunday afternoon in downtown Atlanta
« on: February 18, 2008, 04:37:47 AM »

I was walking around downtown Atlanta today and it was interesting to see the way Christ was represented.
Some of the things I saw were:

A woman minister preaching at a park about how God looks at the internal things of our heart and that we should praise God.
Sticker on a wall that said smile, Jesus loves you.
Some bible verse notations on bricks that people get their names engraved on in Centennial Olympic Park (Phil 4:13)
A school bus full of homeless people driving around that was painted red, white and blue with the letters JESUS SAVES.
A teenage boy at the CNN center with a shirt that said: gotJesus? If not you're going to hell.  :o (gotMilk ad campaign style)
A man walked up to us and started blaspheming and then babbling on about Ezekiel.
Christian fish symbol on an advertisement for bail bonds.

It was a strange and yet interesting experience.

Hi Stevernator,

Isn't it amazing how we see things from such a different perspective and in better focus once the scales begin to fall off of our eyes?

An interesting journey to say the least!  ;)

His Peace to you,

Joe

I saw a bumper sticker the other day that said

            JESUS, Please save me...
            from your followers.

Pretty clever.

Hey
Did you see the masses of people pouring into the dome this morning to hear Eddie Long?
Driving around Atlanta any Sunday morning can be a spectacle!

I had a weird sort of experience when I went to the plaza the other day (large shopping mall) here on the sunshine coast in OZ. it was weird because as My wife and I were walking around looking for some new bedding for winter, when it all sort of just changed into this surreal experience of everything seeming like I was in modern day Egypt or Babylon. it was so bizarre!

At first I just started noticing that the department store was so grand and plush looking and then I started to notice all the people who were walking around being convinced that they needed to have all this stuff.

I just kept thinking of how much it was a reflection of the Babylonian church system.
It was so strange and so surreal. that was a very strange day indeed!

Everyone in there best dressed, waving flags of victory!
They were also the first event in the dome sense the tornado so people cheered loudly for that.
I assume most were pretty excited to have the service in the dome because of the damage from the tornado!
T.I. the rapper was also there, I heard he gave a speech during the service about HIV/AIDS awareness.
I'm always at an ah when I see people come to hear him speak!!

My old church is at the top of the hill on the corner of the parking lot!
Every Easter Sunday was a sight to see so many flock to here this man.
He makes no sense when I hear him preach.
