Favorite Songs And Recording Artists

Can a guy say that he enjoys ABBA's harmony too and not run the risk of being labeled? I do not own any of their music but if I hear them on the radio usually will turn it up! I really like any group with the great vocals. How could I leave off REO? One of my favorites in high school.

There's a lot of Christian Metal bands around today, some of which are huge. Killswitch Engage, Threat Signal, As I Lay Dying, Scripture, Megadeth (yes indeed, Dave Mustaine the renowned "hellraiser" is now a Christian, refusing very lucrative festival tours because of certain "demonic" bands on the bill). There are a lot more too. Some of the names of these bands may not to us be very Christian sounding, but they are reaching millions of young people with a Christian message in their lyrics that the Church never could. And you see it at their concerts. I remember back in the 70s, 80s and 90s, Metal concerts would usually be attended by kids that swore a lot, got drunk, maybe even drugs. I've been to see some of these bands and its amazing. Sure the kids still jump around, get a bit wild to the music etc, but the bars are all selling fruit juice and water, there's no drugs, no yelling of obscene language etc. Its definitely a positive move to come out of a genre of music usually associated with devil worship etc (which by and large is utterly spurious anyway).
