This scripture helps us understand that we must prophecy, minister, teach, exhort, give, rule and show mercy according to grace and the amount of faith that God has given us. I'm thinking that vs. 7 is telling us to "wait" and be sure by the nod of the Holy Spirit that we do all according to His Way and Will and not our own. The Lord rarely gives me opportunity to share much any more so I'm a "lady in waiting"
Rom 12:6-8
6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;
7 Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;
8 Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.
(KJV)
I like this verse as it seems sharing with "one another" within the body of Christ. Combine that directive with being ready to give an answer to those who ask in sincerity about your faith.
Col 3:16-17
16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
(KJV)
