What price LOVE?
« on: May 14, 2008, 08:11:48 AM »

Hi! Everybody, just a passing thought I'd like to share.

A farmer had some puppies he needed to sell. He painted a sign advertising the 4 pups And set about nailing it to a post on the edge of his yard. As he was driving the last nail into the post, he felt a tug on his overalls. He looked down into the eyes of little boy.

'Mister,' he said, 'I want to buy one of your puppies.'

'Well,' said the farmer,
as he rubbed the sweat off the back of his neck, 'These puppies come from fine parents and cost a good deal of money.'

The boy dropped his head for a moment.
Then reaching deep into his pocket, he pulled out a handful of change
and held it up to the farmer.

'I've got thirty-nine cents.
Is that enough to take a  look?'

'Sure,' said the farmer.
And with that he let out a  whistle.
'Here, Dolly!' he called.
Out from the doghouse and down the ramp ran Dolly followed by four little balls of fur.

The little boy pressed his face against the chain link fence. His eyes danced with delight.

As the dogs made their way to the fence,
the little boy noticed something else stirring inside the doghouse.
Slowly another little ball appeared, this one noticeably smaller. Down the ramp it slid. Then in a somewhat awkward manner, the little pup began hobbling toward the others, doing its best to catch up...

'I want that one,' the little boy said, pointing to the runt. The farmer knelt down at the boy's side and said, 'Son, you don't want that puppy.  He will never be able to run and  play with you like these other dogs would.'

With that the little boy stepped back from the fence, reached down, and began rolling up one leg of his trousers.

In doing so he revealed a steel brace running down both sides of his leg attaching itself to a specially made shoe.

Looking back up at the farmer, he said,
'You see sir, I don't run too well myself,
and he will need someone who understands.'

With tears in his eyes, the farmer reached down and picked up the little pup.

Holding it carefully handed it to the little boy.

'How much?' asked the little boy.  'No  charge,'  answered the farmer, 'There's no charge for love.'

The world is full of people who need someone who understands.

"The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love." (1Jn.4:8)
Our God is called LOVE not hate. All glory to Him! Amen!

God bless.

Love in Christ Jesus

Hi Roy-That story brought tears to my eyes. I can relate to the little boy as i too did not walk well either.I know you are thinking what do you mean'did'. My problem started when i was a youngster-and it progressed to the point that by the time i was 41  i could barley put one foot in front of the other they felt as if each weighed 100 pounds and the agonizing pain was unbearable. I was diagnosed at the age of 41 as having multiple sclerosis for 6 yrs i was confined to my room.I thought i would be dead by2007-and i probably would be however GOD intervened!I heard very clearly him say 'you are healed' it was Thanksgiving day2006.It took me several months to relearn how to walk, use my arms, hands etc.Now i can run! ;D   Yes it is true you cannot put a price on love.
Thanks for that story!Peace--     Love Lorrie

Hi! Lorrie

How wonderful to hear that you are healed, praise God. I'm so happy for you brother. Multiple sclerosis is a dreadful disease.

And that is true also you can't put a price on love, for God is LOVE and you can't put a price on Him now can you? Enjoy your healing and always remember to keep thanking Him for all His mercies even the small ones which we tend to take for granted. "The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love." (1Jn.4:8)

God bless you.

Love in Christ Jesus.

Wow Lorrie....I find it interesting that it was THANKSGIVING DAY!  Then you received that miracle. Like the ten lepers and only one went back to thank Jesus and then he was made whole!

Now you have received not only healing in your flesh but a gift to your soul to be in the receipt of a ceaseless supply of thanksgivingness. (No such word but it fits!)

Lovely story Roy. We all wear braces and have our props of some sort till He sets us free!

Peace to you
