Ray's Comment On When Christ Died...
« on: May 17, 2008, 08:29:52 AM »

Here is a snippet from Ray's email to morgan concerning when Christ died...GREEN text is mine...
Quote
COMMENT:  No, that statement is not correct either, Morgan.  They kept the Lamb until the 14th when it was killed at the going down of the sun, in the evening, and was then eaten, celebrated, THAT NIGHT, which is then the 15th of Nisan, not the 14th:

Exo 12:6 And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it IN THE EVENING [of
the FOUTEENTH].

Exo 12:7 And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it [on the FOURTEENTH].

Exo 12:8 And they shall eat the flesh IN THAT NIGHT [SAME NIGHT of the FOURTEENTH]..."  That night being the 15th of Nisan, not the 14th as you falsely state.

My math is sometimes a little hazy...but this is just strange.

Exo 12:6 says that the congragation killed the lamb in the EVENING of the 14th...
Exo 12:7 says then they will eat that very lamp in that evening (fourteenth)
Exo 12:8 confirms that they shall eat the flesh in THAT night (we're still on the FOURTEENTH here as it says "THAT night", not the "NEXT night of the 15th")

Is this what Ray was trying to say? Can someone help a poor lad here? I'm very confused at how Ray came to the conclusion that the "THAT NIGHT" of vs 8 is talking about the 15th and not the 14th.

Hi Jerreye,

Hi Jerreye,

Keep in mind that a new day would have begun after sunset.  (Slain before sunset the 14th; eaten after sunset the 15th)

Ray has also gone over the evening and morning and the calendar before elsewhere.
